Best of 2013: A Year In Review

Hi Lovelies!

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year’s Eve tonight! I will be ringing in the new year with the hubby and a couple of our friends eating delicious food here in Austin! I know I’m a little bit late to the game today, but I just have so much to share I couldn’t wait until tomorrow! So, here you are, a recap of my year and the best of All That Glitters 2013!

January-March

We spent new years with some friends at Perla’s in Austin and then went to a bar for the ball drop. It was a low key New Year’s, but still great! In February I was able to go help open a Charming Charlie store in San Antonio. It was a really great experience and I learned a lot about leadership. March brought South By Southwest along with it. Wes was able to go to a lot of the conference events through his company, and network network network! We also went to the Houston Rodeo with one of my best friends since middle school. We saw Luke Bryan and he was every bit as amazing as I thought he would be:)

April

I started my new job and quit retail for good. I got out of a horrible situation with the worst boss I have ever encountered. Some people are just plain mean at heart and I am so happy/lucky that I have found the wonderful company that I did with such great people. I wrote my first post on All That Glitters this month, though I didn’t “go public” until June.

May

Wes and I took our honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica. It was absolutely beautiful and one of the best vacations I have ever been on.NEGRIL, JAMAICA

June

I had written about 3 posts on All That Glitters prior to June, all of which are awful (lol). The week of my birthday I decided I was just going to jump in and have been writing 5 posts per week since! Wes also got a new job this month. He loves his job and company as well, we couldn’t be luckier!

July

In July my newest nephew, Carter Michael, was born. He is such a sweet baby and is growing up WAY too fast already!

August was the Texas Style Council Convention and I had so much fun. I met a bunch of bloggers that I love in real life and we all had a blast! August 10th was our first wedding anniversary. We spent it in Dallas with my family where we had a party for my parents 30th anniversary.

September

In September, my parents and I took a trip to the big city. NYC is one of my favorites and I got to relive some really great college memories by visiting my old stomping grounds!

October

This post went viral (well, viral for me…lol) on Pinterest and I got the highest amount of views in one day because of it!

November

November brought with it some great blogging adventures. I started offering ads on All That Glitters and sold my very first ad! We spent Thanksgiving in Dallas with my parents and my grandparents flew in from Florida.

December

Blogging got intense in December when I started a 12 days of Christmas crafts series. I loved it and hated it at the same time. I will for sure be repeating next year with new crafts! My in-laws came to visit for Christmas and we got to do things in Austin that we haven’t even done yet, even after living here for 2 years. It was a great time!

New Year’s Eve Sparkle

Hi Lovelies!

I have been such a busy little blogger lately! Taking outfit posts left and right, getting caught up on some great projects I’m working on….living the good life with my half days at work…:) <Sigh> This.is.the.life. With the end of the year coming I have really been thinking back on the awesome things I have done this year, and I have realized that I am SO lucky. Lucky to have the greatest family, husband, puppy, and job that a girl could ever ask for. Lucky to have the best readers and blog friends ever. I love this little blog so much. I have put my all in to it, and every single one of you guys out there that read and comment and show up each and every day just make me so happy:) You are all absolutely amazing and if it weren’t for you I probably wouldn’t have the motivation to show up here each day and do my fashion bloggy thang. So, this post is a thank you to all of you out there, whether I know you or not, just know that every little comment I get from you all just makes my entire day and I love you for it!

Now, on to the outfit for today! New Year’s Eve is tomorrow! It’s so crazy how fast this entire year went by. Well, if you managed to find your way here from the Texas Women Bloggers site, you will already know from my post there that I love, love, LOVE to dress up for New Year’s Eve. No outfit planning makes me happier than NYE outfit planning. Glitter, glitter, and more glitter is always appropriate on NYE. So, I found this glittery little number online at American Eagle…on sale for $20 I might add…and I knew it was perfect for the occasion. I ordered it, along with what turned out to be a hideous fur vest, and fell in love the moment I put it on. The vest on the other hand, I will be returning. I am still debating whether or not I want to go with the black top or a white chiffon one I have…guess it will depend on my mood:)

What are you wearing for NYE? Share your link in the comments!

White Tulle Skirt Made By Moi

Hi Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Wes and I spent the day with his parents opening gifts, eating good food, and playing with the Kinect. It was a blast!

So, remember back a few weeks ago when I was trying to decide what to wear to my work holiday party? Well, I never ended up finding a white tulle skirt. I looked absolutely everywhere and couldn’t find one that wasn’t $100. So…I made my own:) It didn’t turn out exactly like I had planned, but it’s still cute. What do you think?
