Vega Sport Protein Powder #Fuelyourbetter

FuelYourBetter uphill battle

5:30 AM bootcamp: It’s a love-hate relationship really. I love bootcamp. I really like my trainer, and the people in my class are pretty great too. It’s the 4:45 wake up call I hate. I have never been one to just jump out of bed in the early hours of the morning and hop to it, but the past 2 months I have had to. I have gotten SO much better, trust me, but it’s going to take some time before I can actually say I enjoy the morning…if I ever do lol! June, I rocked it. I was there every morning, never skipped one. Then I went on vacation at the end of June and coming back in July was rough. Don’t get me wrong, I have been there pretty much every morning, but after 11 days of vacay I was struggling to tear myself off of the bed.

Can't get past this plateau Vega Sport Protein

What do you do when you hit this wall? This wall that you SO badly want to crash through and get around. I for one have been trying to fuel my body a little bit better than I used to. I never thought I would be that girl who drinks protein drinks to supplement her diet after a work out…but I have BECOME that girl. I got the chance through my Sweat Pink Ambassadorship to get a free trial of the Vega post workout Protein shake for the #fuelyourbetter campaign, and after using it these past few weeks, it is really great! I make one every day after my bootcamp work out, and I really think that it is working wonders. I don’t feel as tired during the days, I feel better from work out to work out, and can definitely feel myself getting stronger much more quickly than I was before. I even feel a tad bit more energetic when I have to get up in the early morning;-) I got the vanilla flavor, because I always think that chocolate protein tastes like chalk. Now, I won’t lie to you, I am super weird about these types of things…I will say, it’s not something I sit and think about all day long because it tastes SO good. Haha! BUT, it’s not as terrible as I thought it might be. I think drinking it by itself every day is a little bit much for me, but I have actually tried putting it into my smoothie, which was fantastic! On the Vega website they have some really great recipes you can put the powder in to as well, such as the following:

Strawberry Protein Waffles

These recipes are both on my list of things to make with my protein powder, especially the strawberry waffles….yum! Well, enjoy your workouts and your weekends! Be sure to let me know if you try the Vega protein shakes out!

Dressing Up A Plain Tee

Skirt, tshirt, and scarf outfit

This is SUCH a comfy T-shirt. I was looking for the perfect soft tee and walking around Target (obviously) found this one. Sooooooo comfy! I love finding different ways to dress up a comfy shirt too. I wore it with my boyfriend jeans and a statement necklace the first time, so the second time I wanted to dress it up a little bit more. This outfit kind of came together spur of the moment when I realized that this scarf and skirt matched. I figured, why not put them together with my comfy tee?! Love:)

Happy 4th Birthday, Sophers!

IMG_0244

I can’t believe that it has been almost 4 years since we brought home that 2lb little ball of love! Look how adorable she is! I just don’t understand people who don’t have a dog, we would be so lonely without our little nugget face. Today was spent showering little Sophie in love. She got some special treats and dental bones, had a little play time, and had snuggle time on the couch with Momma. I would say, for a pup, that’s a pretty great day!Cavalier Spaniel King Charles Spaniel Pretty King Charles Spaniel Little King Charles Spaniel IMG_0402Happy Birthday, Little Miss Sophie! Banana Mocha Smoothie with Kiva

Banana Mocha Smoothie

Every month at my work we do a staff breakfast. Usually we have Waffle Wednesday, but last month I decided that I was sick of waffles. I thought long and hard about what we could make instead, and I eventually decided on smoothies. I am a genius! My boss and I both brought in our blenders and I bought all of the ingredients for 3 different types: Blueberry Pomegranate, Strawberry Banana, and Banana Mocha. They were all fantastic (trust me, I had a little of each lol), but my favorite was the banana mocha one. Now, I have put the basic ingredients on here, but you could totally add fun stuff like protein powder to this as well!

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of cold coffee
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp Kiva Cacao Powder

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients into blender.
  2. Blend on high until a creamy consistency has been reached.
  3. Pour into your glass and enjoy!

Banana Mocha Smoothie Yum

Yeah, it’s that simple. I have begun to make smoothies for breakfast after my bootcamp some mornings, and they give you a great little kick in the morning to get your day started right. The Kiva cacao powder that I put in is really great too. It’s organic, which I love, and it is just the right blend of bitter and sweet. I would highly recommend it for all of your smoothie or baking needs. You can get it on Amazon for $16.85. The bag is huge, and I use it in almost all of my smoothies to give it a little chocolate flavor:)

What I Wish I Wore

Crops and ShortsAwwww I wish I owned these ouftits:) I also wish I had the rockin’ bod required to sport these little numbers, but that’s neither here nor there. Haha! So, we will call this my dream post: What I wish I wore!

This past weekend was my cousin’s last weekend in Texas, so Wes and I took her to San Antonio on Saturday. We had such a blast. I am pretty sure we ate 5 meals in one day and had a few too many margaritas, but hey, what’s a last hurrah for?! Lol! Needless to say, Sunday after we drove home we relaxed in our back yard by our big blue pool and then went to the Alamo Draft house so that we didn’t have to cook…or think:) Monday mornings are always rough, but after an exceptionally fun one it’s always 10 times worse. I missed my bootcamp (oops), and I’m sure I could have slept until noon if I didn’t have to be at work at 8:00. This morning I had to say goodbye. It has always sucked, but after seeing her pretty much daily for 3 months it was just plain old depressing:( So, I will sit at work today being mopey, and will start planning our next meeting tonight when I get home:)

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! It’s almost hump day!
