Peach and Mint Shift

Coral Shift Dress

This dress makes me happy. Not just because it’s super cute….it’s much more than that. I bought this dress over a year ago online. When I received it, it was tight on me. I loved it, and as we always do I kept it for “when I loose weight.” Well, that didn’t happen for months…and then it was past the return policy and it just sat in my closet. I reached for it back in July when I was packing for a friends wedding weekend and decided that I would try it on again just in case. It fits! It actually fits! This is the glory of loosing 23 pounds! Yes, you read that right….since April, I have lost 23 pounds! It’s the little things like fitting into your new favorite dress, or weighing less than you did when you got married….those are the things that make this healthy living thing worth it for me:) That, and just feeling so much better about life in general!Peach and Mint Shift DressPeach and Mint OUtfitPeach and Mint Lulus dressPeach and mint dress with gold accessoriesMint and peach floral shift dressCoral and Mint Shift DressCoral and Mint Shift Dress

If you’re curious about how I lost my first 13 pounds, you can read about the Whole30 here. Since then I have been working out and eating Whole30 during the week. I let myself have things I probably shouldn’t on weekends and usually regret it (lol), but I have continued to loose weight pretty consistently and I think it has a lot to do with not completely depriving myself. I will be writing a whole post on my weight loss once I reach 25 pounds, so stay tuned!:)

Black Floral Shift

Old Navy Shift DressIt’s been such a busy week for me. I’ve had so much to do at work and I have finally been getting back to working out after a week of having bronchitis. On top of that, I’ve had a lot of orders to fill and I’ve been trying to get my house back into shape after not feeling like cleaning with my illness. Needless to say, blogging on Monday and Tuesday didn’t happen, but even though it’s late I was bound and determined to get a style post up tonight! Woohoo! It is what I wore Wednesday after all, eh? Haha! Today’s outfit is one of my recent faves. I am so glad that I bought this dress earlier in the summer because I have worn it SO many times! It’s comfy AND it’s cute…oh and the necklace I got in my rocksbox back when I bought it matched so well that I bought it:) Tehehe!Rocksbox statement necklaceOld Navy black and floral dressCoral and green outfitBlack and green floral dressInitial bangle braceletBlack floral Old Navy Shift DressGet The Look:

I knew that I needed to keep this necklace when I wore it to dinner with my parents and my Mom told me that it looked like it was made for this dress. She talked me into it…you know, really twisted my arm;-) Haha! You can get your first month of Rocksbox for free with the code meganbff58. Fit Friday: Staying Active On Vacation

Staying active on vacation

With our trip to Europe coming up this fall, I have been thinking a lot about how I am going to manage working out (or not working out, lol) for 2 whole weeks. I have been working out 4-5 times per week and I just don’t know if I can (or want) to go for an entire 2 week span without getting my sweat on at least a little bit. You know that I will be eating terribly the entire time, because let’s be realistic, vacation=dessert and wine…oh and the fact that we will have to eat out for most meals. Eating paleo/whole30-like when eating out is practically impossible so there goes my healthy eating. <sigh>

There's no way you woke up like that tank top

I wracked my brain for a while trying to think of fun ways to stay active while we are abroad and a came up with a few.

1. Jump Rope: I was offered an awesome TKO jump rope in exchange for a review and I thought, this could be the perfect opportunity to have a way to exercise when I go on vacation! I mean, it’s small, and it can be shoved into the small crevices of my bag…I can jump rope down the hall at my hotel, or you know, just in my room. (The people below us are going to LOVE me!) I already knew I was going to bring some work out clothes, because even though I *may* not use them, you don’t have the option to use them if they aren’t there. So, now that I have my clothes coming with me and this jump rope I know I can at least get a little cardio in a few times! I love the one they sent because it fits comfortably in your hands and it is plenty long enough so that you don’t trip over it constantly.

2. Walk everywhere: Even though there are trains and cabs in most big cities, walking around will really help you to stay on track. It’ll also help ensure that you get a great nights sleep every night which is a huge plus for us with the time change!

3. Running: I know not everyone is a runner out there, but what could be more fun that waking up, throwing on your shoes, and taking a little run (or jog) around a new and fun place? You can explore the area you are staying in and who knows, maybe you’ll find a fun, hidden gem!

4. Phone Apps: There are some really great phone apps specifically designed to be used without any sort of equipment. I know there is a deck of cards work out where you do a certain number of crunches, push ups, and other exercises for each type of card. This would be an easy, fast way to get in some ab work. :)

5. Rent your work out: Rent a bike, kayak, or canoe to site-see with. This will all depend on where you are going, but I know bike tours are pretty popular in Europe! Get your heart rate up and have fun while you’re doing it!

Jumping rope is such a great work out to take on vacation

Happiness

Gold dot tee with pink skirtLife lately has been hectic. Work has been busy, my shop has been busy, Wes and I have both been a little sick….and guess what gets put on the back burner? That’s right, the good old blog. I’m okay with it though. I’ve been posting 5 days a week for the last 2 years and I guess it’s just time to cool off a little. Step back and see where I want to take it all. If you haven’t noticed, I have been posting a lot more about food and health over the last few months a long with my outfit posts. I think that’s where All That Glitters is headed. What started as purely just style blogging, has taken a turn to lifestyle. I love to post all of my outfits and will continue to do so, but I want to talk about more than just style. Healthy eating and living is one of the biggest things in my life right now, so it just seems right to talk about it more and more here on the blog:)

Once we get to a point in our lives where kids are on the horizon, I’m sure you’ll see a little swing over into plenty of baby posts…but for now food, health, style, and my life in general is where its at! I hope you all stick around with me through this busy time in my life just as you always have in the past! I wouldn’t be here without you! :)

Of course I didn’t notice my belt being all wonky until I was done with photos…dammit! lol! But, anyways, this outfit just screams happiness to me. The colors are bright, there are gold polka dots involved…and the necklace is just that, pure happiness. No wonder the boutique it is from is called the Happiness Boutique! If my accessories all came from there I would be happy all the time:) Haha! This one has really caught my eye and I might be needing it before we make our trip to London this fall…

You see how I did that? Slipped in a trip to London without having ever mentioned it before? Haha! Well, we’re doing it! We’re making a trip to London and Paris later on this fall and I am BEYOND ecstatic! If you guys have any must dos (especially in Paris) let me know in the comments below!

Mexican Pulled Pork Lettuce Wraps

Pulled Pork Lettuce Wraps

Sorry I have been so MIA lately! I have had so much going on and just not enough time for it all. Sometimes you just need to take a little breather in order to get yourself back on track! It’s been nice to have a little break and focus on my shop and my real life. Well, today I’m back and I have a wonderful recipe for you all! As most of you know, I have been trying to eat healthy ever since my Whole30 back in April, so it’s a good and healthy one! This recipe is not only healthy, but it is SO easy! It’s a crock pot meal, so it’s as easy as throwing something into your pot, setting it on high and going to work. The only work once you get home is to put the meat in to a wrap and add any toppings you would like! I used lettuce as a wrap for my “tacos”, but Wes used a tortilla for his.

Pulled Pork Taco Filling

Ingredients:

  • Pork Roast
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • Chopped green chiles
  • 1 Onion
  • Salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper
  • Lettuce shells or tortillas
  • Cilantro (optional)

Directions:

  1. Add pork roast, tomatoes, green chiles, onion, and spices to crock pot.
  2. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours.
  3. Shred meat with fork.
  4. Serve in tortillas or lettuce shells!

Pulled Pork Tacos in the Crock PotI hope you all enjoy the recipe! Let me know if you happen to try it out!
