Sparkles & Plaid

Sparkle sweater layered with button down shirt
If you don’t have a Costco membership, you either need one or need to find someone that has one. This sweater is everything. I went in for a few simples food items (and maybe to look at the Christmas stuff) and ended up wandering aimlessly for an hour and then buying this sweater. Yes, you heard me. This sweatshirt with those cute little sparkles on it is from Costco. (They also have navy blue if you are curious.) (And, also yes, I asked for it in navy for Christmas…so sue me!) For some reason, I just had this outfit in my head and I couldn’t say no. The next day, I popped out of bed with a big smile on my face and headed over to my closet to throw on my new outfit. It’s the little things in life people! I have actually worn it twice since I got the sweater a week and a half ago. (Once like this and another time with boyfriend jeans and my cute Lulu’s zebra flats- as I showed on Instagram here!) Yes, you could say that I become obsessed when I find an item I especially love:)

Oh, and by the way, this is also the softest sweater ever. It’s lightweight so it probably won’t keep you the warmest, but that makes it great for layering. I am in love and I can’t wait for my navy one to arrive once Santa has left on Christmas morning:) Have you found any awesome fashion steals at Costco before?

Color Crush: Navy And Cognac

Navy Floral Chiffon Top with Riding Boots

Looking back at this outfit, I wish I would have worn a belt. Lol. Do you ever do that? Wear something and then look back at a picture of you in it and wish you had done it differently? I just feel like it’s too flowy and doesn’t give me any shape. I mean, it’s not horrible, but a belt would have helped to accentuate my waist. Oh well, you live and you learn right? I still love this top:)Fall Fashion Inspiration- Navy Chiffon Fall Fashion- Navy and Cognac Charming Western Necklace Navy Chiffon Top with ethnic necklace Fall Inspiration- Navy and Brown OUtfitGet The Look:

Charming Charlie has done it again! This whole outfit, minus the denim, is from there and I love every bit of it! Even though I wish the top was a little more figure flattering, I really do like it…and it’s super comfy:) I have never really been one for blues in my fashion pieces, but blues and browns together are quickly becoming one of my new favorite fall color schemes. I wore it last week here and I’m pretty sure that’s when I fell in love. Or maybe it was when I first found this handbag in Charming Charlie. Either way, you can be sure I will be wearing much more of it in the near future:)

Those Limited Too Days Keep Coming Back To Haunt Me

Plaid skort with knee high boots

I’ll try not to talk about my Limited Too days again for a whole post like I did last week, but this skirt reminds me of it. It reminds me of the first day of 5th grade pulling up to school in my plaid skort…man I was the coolest kid ever. Actually, I really wasn’t. I was the new kid in school and I was a big nerd to be totally honest. I might have looked amazing that first day of school, but don’t let my plaid skirt fool you. I owned lime green shorts that made it down to my knees and a penguin shirt I let my Mom make me wear. I also had these awesome London themed Doc Martins I wore with shorts and a LTD2 shirt. I won’t even make you imagine it, I’ll go right ahead and show you how it was….Floppy hat with a skort and blouse Plaid skort with a floppy hat Fall Fashion Inspiration- Plaid and a floppy hat Blue skort with knee high suede boots Gold accessories for fall Navy Charming Charlie Handbag with cognac boots Navy plaid skort with Navy satchel

Yeah, I know. Let’s not talk about it any longer….let’s talk about today’s outfit! I wore this one a few weekends ago to get a little shopping in. It was comfy, cute, and functional since it was a sunny day and this hat kept it out of my eyes:) I can’t bring myself to wear a skirt/shorts this short to work by themselves (even though I can wear whatever I want), but I plan to put on some brown leggings or some thick tights with boots once it gets a little chillier out and rock this look to work as well. I might even throw on my fur vest and a statement necklace with it. You know, get those men at work looking at me like I have 3 heads. They don’t understand me and they never will, but I’m really okay with that:)
Are there any styles out right now that remind you of your child hood?

Polka Dots And Plaid: Getting Brave With Pattern Mixing

Pattern Mixing with plaid and polka dots

Really y’all…I am getting SO brave with this pattern mixing thing, and this outfit makes me SO excited! I love the colors, I love the patterns, I love the red lips. I love this outfit. I have read so many posts about “rules” for pattern mixing. I’ve even written a few about “tips” for pattern mixing. I have to say, after this outfit, throw all of that out the window. If you like it, I say go for it:) That has really been my motto for the past few months. I am trying to get over the self conscious, “What do other people think?” that goes on it my brain, and just go for what I like and what makes me feel awesome. This one makes me feel awesome.

Buffalo Check For The Win

Fall Outfit Inspiration- Red and black plaid

Old Navy has been ON it’s game lately! You know, there was a stage a while back where I was sick of Old Navy and everything was just too basic, but these last couple of seasons have been amazing! This dress! I first saw it on Shanna’s blog a few weeks ago and I bought it right then and there! I love how she styled hers with cowboy boots and a brown bag for a more casual look, but I decided to go with a more dressed up styling. I wore this to do a little shopping last weekend and I cannot tell you how many compliments I got on it. It is perfect for fall in Texas: plaid and short sleeved:) Fall Inpiration- Red and Black Plaid Black and red outfit for fall Red and Black Plaid Dress Red and black outfit inspiration Red and black plaid drop waist dress Red and black plaid for fall Black and red plaidGet The Look:

I have been DYING to find a red plaid dress ever since this post last winter. I tried so hard last year to find one, but the dress in that post was sold out:( I am SO glad I finally found one, and I know it is months too soon for it but this is going to be my Christmas Eve dress! I’ll add some black tights and gold sparkly heels…maybe even a little green hair bow to bring in the “Christmas colors”? Done and done, only 3 months early!
