Sailor Stripes & Gold Polka Dots

Layered pearls with gold dots top

It has been an absolutely BEAUTIFUL last couple of days here in Austin! The sun is shining, the temperatures are up, and everyone seems so much happier! I really do believe that it is true that sunshine is good for the soul! I don’t know how I ever lived in the north with all of those dreary, snowy days for months at a time. I salute those of you who still do it! Haha! I was so happy to be able to break out some of my warmer werather clothing this weekend and this outfit was perfect for the sun!

This outfit is one of my new faves! I wore it on Sunday and I am wearing parts of it again today…don’t judge! Haha! I have gotten so many compliments on this t-shirt every time I step foot out the door in it! It’s funny how adding something as simple as polka dots makes a plain white t-shirt into something AMAZING! I love it, and it was worth every penny:) I have been all about the pearls lately, and of course I had to wear my adorable Sweet & Southern Things monogrammed bracelet with the ensemble to make preppy even preppier. You guys really should jump on these, monograms will never go out of style and they are handmade! She even has adorable monogrammed jewelry dishes too! Well, if you are lucky (unlike me) and you have the day off I hope you are enjoying your day! If not, chug on through that work day and treat yourself tonight since you had to work and no one else did! Haha!

An Outfit For $25

Coral dress with southwestern style headband

Hi Lovelies!

Happy hump day! Today is all about bargain hunting, and I LOVE a good bargain. When I can get an entire outfit for $25 I am a happy girl! When my cousin moved to Austin last month one of the first places I took her to was Sam Moon. We found way too many awesome things there, but this dress and headband are what I ended up with. The dress was $18 and the headband $7. With a few fun pieces from my existing wardrobe, I had an entire outfit for $25! If you haven’t been to Sam Moon yet, you should go…and if they don’t have one by you, go to the website. And, for the record, no…this isn’t sponsored by Sam Moon, I just really like the store:)

Part 2: A Sundress For Late Spring

Sundress with a fedora

Hi Lovelies!

Yesterday I showed you how to style that strappy sundress you have been wanting to wear on days when it’s a bit to chilly. Today, I am showing you a style for later on in the spring, or if you live in the south like me this weekJ I added a fedora because they are one of my absolute favorite summer accessories. I wore this baby every single day on my honeymoon in Jamaica last spring and it just looks fantastic with everything. A hat can really change the entire look of an outfit and bring a little fun to it.

You can always bring along that sweater from yesterday just in case it gets a little chilly at night, at the beach, or in the air conditioning. There you have it, one dress that you can wear almost all year:)

Do you try and wear your sundresses all year through?

Pastels From Winter To Spring

Hi Lovelies! One of my favorite 2013 trends was by far pastels. I am so excited that I am still seeing them everywhere I shop, it gives me so much hope that they are here to stay!  PS: I cannot believe that I am already seeing spring lines going out at every store I walk into! I am so pumped, since I absolutely hate winter and cannot wait for my Texas spring:)

These light colors are great all year round and today I wanted to show you a few cute options for wearing pastels through winter and into spring. Pastels for winter and spring

I don’t think we Texans will be needing our winter clothes for too much longer, but for all of you Northern ladies out there, we have the winter pastel outfit. A nice warm sweater with skinnies and some adorable mint shoes to top it all off!

And for you Texas ladies who had a 65 degree day yesterday <woot woot>…here is my spring version! This shirt is so comfy and they have a whole bunch of different colors. It’s a nice alternative to the regular denim chambray top.

The kicker in these outfits for me really is the shoes. They are by Yellowbox and I think they are just the cutest. I have gotten so many compliments on them already and I’ve only worn them once or twice. My Mom, sisters and I have been huge Yellowbox sandal fans for years and I had NO idea Yellowbox even made flats until recently! New obsession found.

How will you be wearing pastels in 2014?

Until tomorrow…
