Trend Alert: Peplum Top

Hello Ladies!

Today’s outfit includes one of my favorite trends: the peplum top. I love peplum tops for two reasons 1. They are so girlie, which is so very me and 2. They are so flattering. Tight at the top to show of your assets and loose right around the stomach, which is where most people have something to hide, haha!

Colored pants are great because you can do so many things to them and they always look just a little bit dressier than plain, old jeans:) Red and black are the colors today, hope you enjoy!

These are the MOST comfortable flats I own. They were buy one get one half off so I got a nude pair as well and I honestly wish I would have gotten more! Well, that is all for today! I hope you enjoyed!

Hi Low for my Birthday!

Hello Lovelies!

It was my birthday yesterday, so Wes and I and a few of our friends went to dinner in downtown Austin. Obviously, being my birthday I needed a cute, new outfit….so on my break at work I went to Target to go shopping. I found this adorable printed hi-low skirt and a white chiffon tank top. I’ll have to do another post on this one when it’s not tucked in, because it is super cute by itself as well! Hi-low skirts and dresses, also known as mullets (haha), are huge this season and I have to say I am surprised I didn’t already own one. Maybe it is just me, but there are certain things in today’s trends that can make me look as though I am wearing a potato sack, so I am really into belting things. Belts really help to show that I have a shape in outfits that can be just blah.

Do you like the mix and match teal and purples/pinks? I love adding a little pop of a different color every now and then, it really mixes things up:) I can’t wait to try this one again with my cowboy boots, they would be great to dress it down a little bit!

Have a great Thursday!

PS: I will need to invest in some bug spray for future photo ops. This is the first post from the new house and there are mosquitoes EVERYWHERE. Those dots on my legs, not freckles, bugs!!

Mint Obsessed…

Hello Lovelies!

I know, I know…I posted a mint dress not too long ago, but as the title says, I am OBSESSED. I can’t help myself lately, everything that I see in mint I HAVE to buy! I knew exactly what I was going to wear this top with when I bought it too, my white skinnies, can’t live without ’em! The purse/clutch came in to stock during my last week at Charming Charlie and it was a must have on my last day…a nude bag goes with everything (especially my cute nude ballet flats:)).

Stripes, Bows, and Boots

Hi there!

Well, today was bittersweet. It has been a great year, but I am on to bigger and better things! Now, it is time for dinner and drinks to celebrate with some great people:)

The look of the day today is my striped navy dress with cowboy boots and my big bow handbag (you will find out VERY quickly that I am bow obsessed!). This dress is awesome because you can pair SO many different colors with it.

I am also a HUGE fan of cowboy boots and believe that they really do go with anything. I am in the market for a new pair, these are becoming worn out very quickly, but I just can’t get myself to say goodbye to them just yet:)

My Addictive Personality

Hello Everyone!

I am new to the blogging world, so bear with me:) I realized after hours (and I mean HOURS) of browsing Pinterest and other people’s blogs that I am addicted…..to SO many things. Food I won’t be able to make, fashion I won’t fit in to, decorating a house I don’t have, crafting awesome things (usually for the kids I don’t have), and a million other things. I figured if I’m going to spend so much time thinking about these things I might as well write all my thoughts down. So, <drumroll> here they are!

Now, just a little bit about me before I get started…

I met my husband when we were 16, we were in a play together. I was the new girl and he was the goofy, yet charming theater guy. This is us in the 11th grade:

Prom

We ended up at prom together senior year, this is us again (Yes, I realize it looks like a wedding photo, so did the woman developing my film. Yes, they still had film back then).

2

We went to a small liberal arts school together and graduated in 2009. After college we moved in together and had fun living and growing together until he proposed to me in July of 2011.

We then moved to Austin, Texas together in November 2011 and made a long trip back to Michigan to be married on August 10, 2012.
