The Lust List: How Is It Already Friday Again?!?

Hi Lovelies!

Happy Friday! I cannot believe it’s that time again already! I am so ready for another weekend. My allergies have been acting up terribly this week…either that or I’m getting sick, which I refuse to believe! That and Sophie kept me awake all night Tuesday night and I haven’t been able to catch up since then. <sigh> Well, here are some of my favorites from across the internet this week! Enjoy!

Uniquely Lorna Jane

Lorna Jane Reflective Jacket

Hi Lovelies!

Oh my goodness has the weather been great these past few days! It has been sunny and beautiful and has just made me beyond happy. Well, today is the first official day of spring, so I guess the good weather came about just in time! As most of you know, I am training for a half marathon in April. It is less than a month away at this point, and I am freaking out. I ran 8 miles (yes, all at one time) this past week and I was actually fine, but all I kept thinking was that in the race I was going to have to run 5.1 more miles after that. I think I’ll be fine, I have been training hard, but I still have a little anxiety that I’m going to trip and fall, break my leg, or stop breathing at some point in those 13.1 miles.

One thing that has really helped me through this whole process is my work out gear. Yes, I know it’s girlie and silly, but the thought of getting new clothes, whether it’s for fun or running, just makes me happy. So, when Lorna Jane contacted me about trying their new Uniquely Lorna Jane line, I just about peed myself. (Another fear for race day…I am going to have to pee in that 13.1 miles I just know it!) The line is so much fun and all of the items are so versatile you could wear them out running or at the gym and then cross them over into your other activities.

The Amy 3/4 tights are my favorite. They aren’t full tights so I can wear them all through the year! I can’t do shorts when running long distances, I don’t have this “thigh gap” everyone keeps talking about and running 8 miles with your thighs touching…not cool. Capris like these are the only way to go for me, and this one even has a handy little pocket to put your money, keys, ID, anything you could want in.

The reflect active jacket is perfect for running on those cooler brisk mornings, or a weekend like last one where we had 20mph winds! It breaks the wind and you don’t feel one ounce of the chill, yet it’s not so heavy that you sweat in it. I also love that it’s reflective! Now with daylight savings time its darker in the mornings and the cars will be able to see you a mile away in this baby! This jacket could also be used for a casual outing with your girlfriends or lunch with the hubby . It’s the perfect add on to give a plain white t shirt a little extra oomph.

You should all join me for a Twitter party with @LornaJaneActive and @FitApproach tonight  at 7PM CST. we’re going to be chatting about fashion and fitness and celebrating the new Uniquely Lorna Jane line! The most active participant will win $150 gift card to Lorna Jane to try out the new line, plus more SweatPink & Uniquely Lorna Jane prizes! You can find out any info you need here!

Part 2: A Sundress For Late Spring

Sundress with a fedora

Hi Lovelies!

Yesterday I showed you how to style that strappy sundress you have been wanting to wear on days when it’s a bit to chilly. Today, I am showing you a style for later on in the spring, or if you live in the south like me this weekJ I added a fedora because they are one of my absolute favorite summer accessories. I wore this baby every single day on my honeymoon in Jamaica last spring and it just looks fantastic with everything. A hat can really change the entire look of an outfit and bring a little fun to it.

You can always bring along that sweater from yesterday just in case it gets a little chilly at night, at the beach, or in the air conditioning. There you have it, one dress that you can wear almost all year:)

Do you try and wear your sundresses all year through?

Part 1: A Sundress For Early Spring

Floral and nude

Hi Lovelies!

It’s really beginning to look like spring here in Austin and I am ready for it more than you could ever believe. I have all of my sundresses out and ready to go! This dress has been one of my favorites since I bought it last year at American Eagle and I really wanted to wear it last weekend, but it was still a little bit too chilly for spaghetti straps. I always reach for a cardigan in these sorts of situations, since I have one in each color and they are perfect for going over sundresses, but this time I wanted to try something different. This sweater is perfect because it’s light weight and I even like that you can see through it a little bit and catch a glimpse of the top of the dress. I also tied it up at the bottom to help give my body some shape instead of looking bulky or boxy and blah! I really like the way it turned out and it was perfect for the windy weather we were having.

Tomorrow, I will show you a cute way to style this dress for once it gets even warmer outside. One dress, two different looks. You can’t beat a piece that can be styled and restyled a bunch of different ways! Stay tuned…

Little Leopard Touches

Black and denim and leopard keds

Hi Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! My sister and her family from Dallas came to stay with us on their way to Sea World. Wes and I babysat for the little baby all day Saturday and he is such a perfect little angel. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you probably saw the photos of little Mr. Carter from this weekend.  It was so cute to watch Wes with the baby, and I think he had a lot of fun playing Uncle Wes for the weekend. One of the many reasons to love my husband, he’s going to be a fantastic dad someday. Don’t worry for all of you family members out there reading this and having a mild heart attack, it will be a long while. I got my baby fever out this weekend with my sister’s little ones:)

On to the outfit! This dress (also seen here) is so comfortable and you can do pretty much anything with it. You all know my favorite print to throw into a plain, casual outfit (or any outfit really) is leopard and these shoes are my new favorites. I actually fell in love with some just like them that Shanna had on her blog a few weeks back, but they were so expensive. So, I went on a hunt for some cheaper ones and found these babies at Target. They are only $16.99 and they are really comfortable so I definitely would suggest ordering them:) I can’t wait to wear them like Shanna styled them with a cute t-shirt, fedora, and shorts!
