Rules? They’re More Like Guidelines Anyways

Hi Lovelies!

The end of summer is drawing near, so I decided it is time to get my white pant posts in while I can! Although, I have to say, I’m not a strong believer of the no white pants past labor day rule. Especially in Texas, it’s more like a fashion guideline….for those people in the north who actually have fall and winter. Haha!

Pardon the frizzy, awkward mess that it my hair in these photos, it was extremely humid and actually looked like it was going to rain! (It didn’t.) That’s why my hair is actually blowing in some of the photos! What a nice change from the stagnant, hot weather we usually have in August.

I found this peplum top at Target (yes, I realize I have a problem) just before the Texas Style Council at the beginning of August. I wore it to the Lulu’s clothing swap and got a ton of compliments! I like how it is shorter in the front and longer in the back (mullet top!) And we all know how I feel about teal and coral…..

Well, there you go! Now, I need to think of some cute fall ways to style my white skinnies once labor day rolls past!

How would you bring white pants in to fall?

Plain and Simple: All Dressed Up

Hi Lovelies!

You might remember this dress from a few weeks ago here. In that post I dressed it very simply, with just a belt and a gold chain necklace. This time, I tried to dress it up a bit with my new favorite piece, my Target blazer. I found this blazer yesterday and I am in love. I have been looking for a cute one that fits correctly, but also doesn’t cost $80. Well, here you have it, $35 and just as cute as can be! I am beyond excited to wear this baby all fall/winter long, and I’m sure I will style it on here at least a million more times! You should definitely head on over to Target, they have several colors and even a plaid one and a polka dot one!

Well, there you have it! I’m sure you will see a lot more of this blazer in the weeks to come as I get more and more excited about falls approach! Woohoo! Any ideas of how you will wear a blazer this fall?

Until tomorrow…

I Am A Bargain Hunter

I am a bargain hunter. It’s true. No, I’m not cheap and no, I’m not that annoying person who tries to get a deal on a loose thread in every store, but I am DEFINITELY a bargain hunter. In college some may have even called me the bargain queen. I would come home from the mall with shirts that cost me $4, panties that were $1 each, and a pair of $3 sandals. My friends would be in awe. “How do you find such cute things on sale? I never do.” Well, first of all my friends, let me say that it is pure luck. Luck that they have my size, luck that it isn’t torn, and luck that it is something I would actually wear. There is no real trick to it, except that you have to shop often:) Now, for me, this is not a problem…I LOVE to shop, but for some shopping is torture. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are most likely not going to find a whole outfit for $20 unless you shop often.

That being said, today I’m showing off my new bargain from Forever 21. Yes, I realize that most everything in Forever 21 is a bargain, but this is a REAL bargain! I had a Visa giftcard that I won at work and it has been burning a hole in my pocket since the beginning of June when I got it. Obviously, I wanted to get the most bang for my buck, so I headed on over to Forever 21 after work. After looking for about 10 minutes I found it, this skirt (see below). This skirt was only $9.99! I was able to get 2 skirts and a dress with my $50 giftcard and I left feeling happy as can be:) So, without further ado, today’s outfit:

Oh, and by the way those sandals…$4 at Target! But moving on…for all of you saying that’s great Megan, but I can’t wear a tank top to work, cardigans are your best friend. I have a cardigan in about 5 different colors and they are a super easy way to turn a look like this into something appropriate for work (depending on your dress code). My favorite places for cardigans are definitely Nordstrom (on sale for $19.90) and Target (on sale for $15).

Chelsea came over in the middle of our shoot, ready to bake some cupcakes! Woohoo! I had to get a picture with her as well, because her dress and braid were just TOO cute!

And these are the finished products. We definitely aren’t going to make it into any sort of Pinterest hall of fame(haha), but we had fun and they were SOOO good!

Hope you enjoyed my Wednesday night as much as we did:)

A Little Bit Country…A Little Bit Comfy!

Hey There, Lovelies!

First of all, let me say that dresses are my absolute favorite thing to wear, EVER. I know I wear a lot of pants, but I actually hate pants. If pants are worn, the moment I walk in the door…pants gone! Dresses are the best…they’re comfy, they’re easy…they are perfect for comfy, lazy me:)

I am also a huge fan of chambray shirts this season. They are one of my favorite new trends! A little bit country, a lot comfy, and just all around awesome! So, obviously, it just seemed like the right thing to do to add the two together!
