Dressing Up The Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans and wedges

Hi Lovelies!

This week has absolutely FLOWN by. I swear, I didn’t believe it as a child, but the older you get the faster time seems to go. I can’t complain because that means the weekend is almost upon us again, but seriously, time needs to slow down! It’s supposed to rain here this weekend, but I hope it lets up for a little while so that I can add on to my tan from last weekend. Can ya see it? Can ya? It’s totally there!

Today’s outfit is inspired by one of my favorite bloggers, Megan from For All Things Lovely. She is the best girl I know at dressing up a pair of boyfriend jeans and a tee with some cute heels. I am always looking for a way to make an outfit like this one a little more girlie and throwing on a pair of heels really is the best way! Only one problemo. Megan+heels=very unstable. I love, LOVE heels, but I am not the most coordinated person on this earth and wearing heels usually ends up with me on the floor. If I don’t fall over, I get uncomfortable after a few hours and need to take them off. This is why I got REALLY excited when Kushyfoot wanted to send me a pair of flats to go. They are so light and thin they fit right in your purse, but they are actually pretty comfortable! I have always been really smart with my heels and have brought along sandals or flats with me, but I cannot tell you how many times I have had to take a larger purse when going out because of them. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to be wearing them to work all day, or for more than a few hours while out with friends, but when your feet are dying these things are the best ten bucks you will have ever spent!

Do you take flats with you when you go out in heels?

Floral Chiffon Maxi

Floral chiffon maxi dress with big earringsHi Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was perfect, I got a little bit of a tan and got in some extra sleep. It’s always hard to go back to work on Monday, but it juts gets harder and harder the nicer the weather gets out. This weekend’s weather was wonderful, 80 degrees and sunny the entire time, with just a little breeze to keep it from being too hot. Loved it! This dress was perfect for the weather and I actually think it might be my Easter dress this year:) Woohoo for planning in advance!

When Sammydress contacted me to do a review of their site I was pretty excited. I had heard about them before but I am always skeptical buying things online from a new site. I mean, who wants to spend their hard earned money on something and then have an awful experience, right? I have to say, it was an overall good experience. I picked out this dress, the bohemian floral print chiffon maxi dress. It took about 2 weeks to get it in the mail, but considering it was shipped from China I think that’s pretty good. A lot of items have Small, Medium, and Large options, but this one was a one size only item. I was concerned. I’m not a big person, but I’m not what you would call petite either. I tried it on ASAP when I received it, and it fit great. My only complaint is that I couldn’t wear wedges with it. Maybe I’m just picky, but it seemed just a tiny bit too short to wear wedges without it looking funny.

I went into this not really expecting too much, but it was a good experience. I got it relatively quickly, it fit well, and it was SO well priced. I would compare the quality to Forever 21, it’s not something I’m going to throw into the wash nonchalantly, and it probably won’t last for years and years, but it’s definitely worth the $13 price tag! I’ll have to order something with a size next time and report back on how they fit:)

Part 2: A Sundress For Late Spring

Sundress with a fedora

Hi Lovelies!

Yesterday I showed you how to style that strappy sundress you have been wanting to wear on days when it’s a bit to chilly. Today, I am showing you a style for later on in the spring, or if you live in the south like me this weekJ I added a fedora because they are one of my absolute favorite summer accessories. I wore this baby every single day on my honeymoon in Jamaica last spring and it just looks fantastic with everything. A hat can really change the entire look of an outfit and bring a little fun to it.

You can always bring along that sweater from yesterday just in case it gets a little chilly at night, at the beach, or in the air conditioning. There you have it, one dress that you can wear almost all year:)

Do you try and wear your sundresses all year through?

Color Crush: Navy Blue and Kelly Green

Green and Navy outfit with a pop of pink

Hi Lovelies!

Today’s color crush is brought to you by my green cardigan. I have worn this dress about a thousand times since I first bought it back in the retail workin’ days at Delia’s and I have never liked it as much as I do with this cardigan. Sometimes one thing can just MAKE an outfit and this color is that thing for this outfit.

If you follow me on Twitter, you will know that I have a new obsession with Keds. Well, Ked style shoes I guess since these are from Target and aren’t Keds brand. I have bought 3 pairs in the past month including these white ones. I am really torn because I originally bought them to paint with gold dots like the Kate Spade ones, but I really like the plain white ones too. Don’t worry though, if I paint them I’ll be sure to give you all a good old DIY post to show you how I did it:)

What do you think, paint the Keds or keep them white?

Bring On Spring

Pink hi low skirt and chambray

Hi Lovelies!

The weather is beautiful and I even though I have been breaking out the spring clothes on and off for a few weeks now, I think I can say that it is officially springtime in Texas! Woohoo! I found these wedges on Target’s website and knew that I had to have some new ones for this summer. I am so glad I bought them, because they go with everything! I love that gold bar down the center….gives it a little extra something something:) This skirt was a part of my birthday outfit last summer and the weather just seemed perfect for bringing out an old summer favorite:)

I usually go home for lunch so that I can spend less money on food and a little extra time with my puppy. I actually had the chance to sit in the sun and get a tan started while I was lunching yesterday, I was so excited! I sat on the back patio book in hand, puppy on lap, straps down, and sunglasses up just catchin’ some rays. I hope for your sake it’s warm where you are too! If not, come on down to Austin, it’s beautiful!
