Dressing Up The Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans and wedges

Hi Lovelies!

This week has absolutely FLOWN by. I swear, I didn’t believe it as a child, but the older you get the faster time seems to go. I can’t complain because that means the weekend is almost upon us again, but seriously, time needs to slow down! It’s supposed to rain here this weekend, but I hope it lets up for a little while so that I can add on to my tan from last weekend. Can ya see it? Can ya? It’s totally there!

Today’s outfit is inspired by one of my favorite bloggers, Megan from For All Things Lovely. She is the best girl I know at dressing up a pair of boyfriend jeans and a tee with some cute heels. I am always looking for a way to make an outfit like this one a little more girlie and throwing on a pair of heels really is the best way! Only one problemo. Megan+heels=very unstable. I love, LOVE heels, but I am not the most coordinated person on this earth and wearing heels usually ends up with me on the floor. If I don’t fall over, I get uncomfortable after a few hours and need to take them off. This is why I got REALLY excited when Kushyfoot wanted to send me a pair of flats to go. They are so light and thin they fit right in your purse, but they are actually pretty comfortable! I have always been really smart with my heels and have brought along sandals or flats with me, but I cannot tell you how many times I have had to take a larger purse when going out because of them. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to be wearing them to work all day, or for more than a few hours while out with friends, but when your feet are dying these things are the best ten bucks you will have ever spent!

Do you take flats with you when you go out in heels?

Color Crush: Navy Blue and Kelly Green

Green and Navy outfit with a pop of pink

Hi Lovelies!

Today’s color crush is brought to you by my green cardigan. I have worn this dress about a thousand times since I first bought it back in the retail workin’ days at Delia’s and I have never liked it as much as I do with this cardigan. Sometimes one thing can just MAKE an outfit and this color is that thing for this outfit.

If you follow me on Twitter, you will know that I have a new obsession with Keds. Well, Ked style shoes I guess since these are from Target and aren’t Keds brand. I have bought 3 pairs in the past month including these white ones. I am really torn because I originally bought them to paint with gold dots like the Kate Spade ones, but I really like the plain white ones too. Don’t worry though, if I paint them I’ll be sure to give you all a good old DIY post to show you how I did it:)

What do you think, paint the Keds or keep them white?

Nautical Stripes: Two Ways

Navy blue striped dress with pink accessories

Hi Lovelies!

Don’t mind me, I’ll just be hanging out here in Austin with my spring dresses and 85 degree weather!:) I’ll try not to rub it in too much…….I’ll try. This nautical-esque dress has been one of my favorites ever since I bought it at Charming Charlie last year. Well, dresses in general are my favorite, and now that it isn’t freezing here, you can expect to see a LOT more of them:)

I get asked all the time why I’m so “dressed up” when I wear a dress, and that’s one thing I’ll never understand. Putting on a dress is so much easier than picking out an entire outfit and they’re so much more comfortable than pants! I hate pants and I don’t hate many things…but pants are one of those things. They’re restrictive and you just can’t move in them. The moment I come home, pants are gone.  I just don’t understand why people don’t wear dresses ALL the time….pretty sure I was born in the wrong era. <sigh> What I wouldn’t give to have a world where dresses were the every day norm again.

This dress was in one of my first outfit posts way back last April. I paired it with some cowboy boots, a brown bow handbag and some turquoise beads. That’s one of the great things about it, there are so many ways to style it to make it a completely new outfit!

A Dash Of Mint

Hi Lovelies!

I had a wonderfully relaxing weekend with the hubby and Chelsea. I got a little bit of shopping in, did a little work around the house, and we started working on making All That Glitters an even better place! The new site will be up and running soon, hopefully . Thank goodness for being married to a web developer who can do all of this web stuff so that I don’t have to:) Today’s outfit is one of my favorites. After working at Charming Charlie for over a year and only being able to wear black and white I have tried to steer away from black and white, but these pants are just too fun! I got them last spring at Old Navy and the fit is just wonderful for someone with curves! With all of the black and white, it seemed a little dark, so I went ahead and added a few pops of mint to give it a little color. Oh, and you can’t forget the FABULOUS bracelets that I found at Aldo on Saturday. I saw them and instantly knew that I needed them:)

If you are a little curvy, I would DEFINITELY recommend checking out these pants, they have all sorts of colors and patterns in the store (Only 2 online unfortunately). They are also super comfortable and just plain cute:)

How do you give a little oomph to a black and white outfit?

Until tomorrow…
