Outfit inpiration for fall- black and mustard

It’s that time of year again…the time of year where I always seem to get sick. Blah! I have been coughing up a lung for like a week and am just beginning to feel like I’m NOT going to die. That’s my immune system for ya…or lack there of. <sigh>

Yeah, being sick has made me mildly speechless….lol. Hence the short intro today. On to the outfit! These pants are fantastic, and so versatile. They are dressy enough to wear in a business casual environment, but casual enough to wear apple picking or to a pumpkin patch. Yep, that’s my shameless fall plug for the day! Hehe! This outfit makes me want to do all of the above though, especially that hat:) I’ve never really had a fall hat before this one, and I have a feeling it’s going to be worn over and over this fall. The whole outfit just makes me feel classy…I like classy:)All That Glitters Blog Signature

Polka Dots Are My Favorite

Black and white polka dot dress with yellow shoes

It’s Friday again! <Everyone sighs in relief> It’s been an extremely busy two weeks at work for me after having taken on some new tasks, and I need a little break from work (and that includes house work lol):) My parents are coming in to town tonight for the weekend, and we have plans to go to the farmer’s market to get some fresh produce which I am super pumped about (I feel old). There are so many farmers markets in Austin and after 3 years we still haven’t been to one! I know, we’re crazy! Black and white polka dots with pink statement necklace Black and white dress Kate spade clutch and polka dot sunnies Black and white polka dotted dress Add a pop of color to a black and white dress with a statement necklace Pink and yellow pops with a black and white outfit A pop of pink with black and white polka dots Black and white polka dot skirt with yellow peep toe heels

Today’s outfit is what I wore to work yesterday. Ever since I quit my job at Charming Charlie over a year ago, I have been trying to wear a little less black and white (that’s all we could wear at work). So, needless to say, I haven’t worn this dress in over a year. I forgot how much I love it! Polka dots really are one of the best patterns ever. I really want to get a black and white striped clutch to wear with it next time and throw a little pattern mix in to the equation. If Charming Charlie taught me one thing, it was that colored pieces looks FANTASTIC with black and white. I almost threw on my black wedges from Target with this outfit, but when I saw these little yellow ones sitting there I realized that I was trying to be too safe. Live a little right? Yellow and pink look fabulous together anyways!

Finding My Motivation

Floral skirt with black topHi Lovelies!

I got this skirt on sale on Target.com and was SO excited that they had my size. Now, 2 months later, this is the first time I have worn it. I do this all the time! I get so excited for something and then when it comes in I ignore it for 2 months. Now, after wearing it, I don’t know why I waited so long! It’s so cute and the colors are so bright and fun!

Time is flying by way too quickly these days! I feel like it was yesterday that I was in Galveston running my half marathon, but it was more than a month ago! That being said, that month has been really bad for me in terms of working out and eating right. Every time I see someone running through my neighborhood I get all antsy to go for a run, and I am determined that this is the week I will get back on the horse and stay there! I haven’t been terrible, but I have definitely NOT been good! It’s starting to get pretty hot here in Austin, so I m going to have to start going on my runs before work when it is still cooler outside.

How do y’all find the motivation to wake up in the early morning and take a run (or go to the gym)?!

Pastels From Winter To Spring

Hi Lovelies! One of my favorite 2013 trends was by far pastels. I am so excited that I am still seeing them everywhere I shop, it gives me so much hope that they are here to stay!  PS: I cannot believe that I am already seeing spring lines going out at every store I walk into! I am so pumped, since I absolutely hate winter and cannot wait for my Texas spring:)

These light colors are great all year round and today I wanted to show you a few cute options for wearing pastels through winter and into spring. Pastels for winter and spring

I don’t think we Texans will be needing our winter clothes for too much longer, but for all of you Northern ladies out there, we have the winter pastel outfit. A nice warm sweater with skinnies and some adorable mint shoes to top it all off!

And for you Texas ladies who had a 65 degree day yesterday <woot woot>…here is my spring version! This shirt is so comfy and they have a whole bunch of different colors. It’s a nice alternative to the regular denim chambray top.

The kicker in these outfits for me really is the shoes. They are by Yellowbox and I think they are just the cutest. I have gotten so many compliments on them already and I’ve only worn them once or twice. My Mom, sisters and I have been huge Yellowbox sandal fans for years and I had NO idea Yellowbox even made flats until recently! New obsession found.

How will you be wearing pastels in 2014?

Until tomorrow…
