Old Navy has been ON it’s game lately! You know, there was a stage a while back where I was sick of Old Navy and everything was just too basic, but these last couple of seasons have been amazing! This dress! I first saw it on Shanna’s blog a few weeks ago and I bought it right then and there! I love how she styled hers with cowboy boots and a brown bag for a more casual look, but I decided to go with a more dressed up styling. I wore this to do a little shopping last weekend and I cannot tell you how many compliments I got on it. I have been DYING to find a red plaid dress ever since this post last winter. I tried so hard last year to find one, but the dress in that post was sold out:( I am SO glad I finally found one, and I know it is months too soon for it but this is going to be my Christmas Eve dress! I’ll add some black tights and gold sparkly heels…maybe even a little green hair bow to bring in the “Christmas colors”? Done and done, only 3 months early!

I can’t say it…I just can’t say happy Monday. It’ll just make me miss the weekend too much. I got so much done around the new house, and of course I finished planning out my entire living room in my head:) Thankfully next weekend is labor day and we get 3 days off! Woot woot! Some grilling and pool time in the backyard is definitely the plan…maybe a little painting as well, we shall see! Speaking of the living room, my outfit matches the living room today:) Turquoise and yellow just look so fabulous together I couldn’t resist!

 I wore this outfit to go shopping on Saturday. It was a pretty hot weekend here, but thankfully the fabric on this top is pretty light weight and breathable, so it wasn’t too hot walking around an outdoor mall. I got compliments in every store I went in to about this necklace, which is one of the reasons why I love it so much. It gives a little somethin’, somethin’ to even the most basic of outfits! I love that one simple piece can make or break an entire outfit.

Oh my goodness am I tired! Traveling sure does take a lot out of you. We were at a wedding in Chicago this past weekend, and our flight was delayed on the way back. We didn’t get home until really late on Sunday night. Needless to say, waking up on Monday morning was rough. The weekend was an absolute blast though! The wedding was beautiful and we got to see all of our friends from college. I love Austin, and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, but I do wish all of our friends were closer together. Those guys are like my brothers, and we have way too much fun together:)

I wore this outfit the week before Chicago, but I also wore it on the plane and for our first day there. I  initially tried this one on in pink and white stripes, but when I went back to look at the price I saw the tropical version and fell in love.I knew I needed this one instead! This shirt is so comfortable and it just makes me want to go to the beach:)

These are lessons I have learned in the past few months. Nothing personally has happened to me, but just browsing the internet, other blogs and articles I have found some of the most ugly , mean hearted people in the depths of the internet. All I know, is that seeing other people being nothing but negative and having way too much fun putting others down just makes me want to be a better person. I don’t understand those people who find pleasure in other people’s pain. Oh well, it just makes me realize that I have to have thick skin in this blogging business. Happy Friday!  If you follow me on Twitter, you will know that I have a new obsession with Keds. Well, Ked style shoes I guess since these are from Target and aren’t Keds brand. I have bought 3 pairs in the past month including these white ones. I am really torn because I originally bought them to paint with gold dots like the Kate Spade ones, but I really like the plain white ones too. Don’t worry though, if I paint them I’ll be sure to give you all a good old DIY post to show you how I did it:)
