Hi Lovelies!
In a few short hours I will be on a plane headed towards New York City! Woohoo! I have traveled a lot in my life and have definitely learned a few things along the way. First, never try to wear heels. I have in fact tried this. In college, I had a long distance relationship for a hot second and thought it was a good idea to “look nice” when I got off the plane. Note, if you want to wear heels, put them on once you get OFF of the plane.
The second thing I have learned: it is always cold on the plane. It doesn’t matter if its 100 degrees outside or 2…it will always be freezing on the plane. They used to give you a free blanket in such situations, but airlines have gotten so cheap you now have to pay for that on top of your $400 flight.
The last thing I have learned: Bring a big bag. I don’t know about you, but I always buy too much when I’m no vacation and I never have enough room in my actual suitcase. If you bring a big bag that is half empty on the way there, you can fill it with your purchases on the way back!
Get The Look:
Pants: Target
Boots: Charming Charlie
Top: Target
Bag: Sam Moon
Jewelry & Sunglasses: Charming Charlie
This outfit is perfect for a plane ride. It will be very comfortable and warm, the bag is plenty big enough to fit tons of purchases on the way back, and I am wearing my boots so that I don’t have to pack them in my bag:)
Until tomorrow…

PS: Fishtail braid= my new favorite hair style!

Great tips. I also like that you minimalized jewelry so it is easier to go through security! You will have to laugh I do dress up for flying but on my last trip I was at a fabrication yard so I was styling in my steel toe cowboy boots on the trip back.
Yes! The less jewelery you have to take off the better! haha! I used to try and dress nicely for flights, but I was always uncomfortable! I still try not to look like a slob, while still going for comfort:) I can’t stand when people go out in public in their PJs…:)
What a perfect flight outfit! I’m all about being comfortable and warm when flying but I never thought about the big bag idea…great tip! Also, your fishtail braid is awesome! That’s one of my favorite hairstyles too
Thanks for stopping by! I stop too much no matter where I go, so the big bag is a must for me!
Love the outfit – my daughter would definitely enjoy the top! I need the bag!
This top is amazing! I had 3 other tops in my hand that I was picking between and put them all down when I saw this one! The bag has some really nice pockets in it too!
I totally agree on the big bag thing! My suitcase always ends up a little fuller when I come home from a vacation… I don’t know how it happens I love this in-flight outfit – I usually wear something similar when I fly!
New York just has so much great shopping, how could you not need more room on the way back! lol!
How fun & exciting! I think people that wear heels on the airplane are funny, I’m not the only one staring, haha. One of the last times I flew, my crap purse straps broke in the overhead compartment and I lost my ID So I suppose you can never have too sturdy or secure of a purse. Also, the only time I was actually hot on an airplane was a late-July flight DFW to Vegas, pretty sure I looked just as funny in my short shorts & tank as the girl in the heels. Haha, it was just too hot. Ever notice how movie theaters are just as cold? Have fun on your trip! Can’t wait to read the posts about it!
Awww that stinks that you lost your ID! I’m pretty sure ever place in Texas is freezing all the time. They way overcompensate for the warm weather and you end up freezing everywhere you go….lol.
Thanks for sharing! I do the same things, except I have an expandable suitcase which I never expand on the way there, so when I come back, there’s a bit of extra room!

Thanks so much! Funny thing about the top, I’m sitting in he airport right now….my top set off the X-ray machine thing and I had to get pat down. Apparently the rivets/beads on it don’t like me….lol
Great top! Love the pattern!
