Hi Lovelies!
First, I must say…that is a big bun. I never realized just how big my hair is until I started this blog. Wow…lol! Anyways, that is besides the point:) I have really been wanting to try mixing patterns, but have been terrified that I will do it all wrong and look like a fool. I’ve tried patterned scarves with a striped top before, but I have never gone as far as I did today and I love it. I went through my entire closet trying to find the perfect patterns and items to mix and this is what I ended with. Pretty cute, right? I even came up with a few good “rules” I think are key in making pattern mixing work.
1. Pick the right patterns. I may be wrong, and I am sure there is someone out there who would be able to pull it off…but a plaid shirt with floral pants….probably would not be the best way to try pattern mixing. Lol.
2. Don’t use more than 2 patterns. Adding a patterned cardigan over this outfit would be the point where it stops looking cute…
3. Use the same color family. A red, white, and blue top with green and orange pants would most likely look as though someone vomited…

I still feel as though I went a little towards the safe side this time. Next time I really want to try mixing with different colors and maybe add a little bit of floral!
Have you tried any pattern mixing of your own? How did it turn out?
Until tomorrow…
