The Lust List

Hi Lovelies!

So, my sister’s entire family is coming to town tonight and I had no time last night to put together an outfit post. After working out and dinner I only had time to clean my house before bed, so today I am going to show you some things I have found around the internet that I really want! I definitely have an internet shopping problem that I was doing SO well with in January and February….March so far, not so much. I’ll have to work on that for the next half of the month, it’s just so hard with spring coming I want to buy all the pretty warm weather things!

Hope you all found a few things you love up there:)

Color Crush: Navy Blue and Kelly Green

Green and Navy outfit with a pop of pink

Hi Lovelies!

Today’s color crush is brought to you by my green cardigan. I have worn this dress about a thousand times since I first bought it back in the retail workin’ days at Delia’s and I have never liked it as much as I do with this cardigan. Sometimes one thing can just MAKE an outfit and this color is that thing for this outfit.

If you follow me on Twitter, you will know that I have a new obsession with Keds. Well, Ked style shoes I guess since these are from Target and aren’t Keds brand. I have bought 3 pairs in the past month including these white ones. I am really torn because I originally bought them to paint with gold dots like the Kate Spade ones, but I really like the plain white ones too. Don’t worry though, if I paint them I’ll be sure to give you all a good old DIY post to show you how I did it:)

What do you think, paint the Keds or keep them white?

Bring On Spring

Pink hi low skirt and chambray

Hi Lovelies!

The weather is beautiful and I even though I have been breaking out the spring clothes on and off for a few weeks now, I think I can say that it is officially springtime in Texas! Woohoo! I found these wedges on Target’s website and knew that I had to have some new ones for this summer. I am so glad I bought them, because they go with everything! I love that gold bar down the center….gives it a little extra something something:) This skirt was a part of my birthday outfit last summer and the weather just seemed perfect for bringing out an old summer favorite:)

I usually go home for lunch so that I can spend less money on food and a little extra time with my puppy. I actually had the chance to sit in the sun and get a tan started while I was lunching yesterday, I was so excited! I sat on the back patio book in hand, puppy on lap, straps down, and sunglasses up just catchin’ some rays. I hope for your sake it’s warm where you are too! If not, come on down to Austin, it’s beautiful!

One Month To Go…

Hi Lovelies!

There is only a little more than a month left until our half marathon and I am SO excited. I think we are just now realizing exactly what  we have gotten ourselves in to. Haha! We have an 8 mile run coming up this weekend and for some reason to me, that 8 mile mark is daunting! I’m not sure why 8 seems so much scarier and longer than 7, but it just does. Well, you know me, clothing is always a great motivator for me and picking out some great new running clothes will help me get excited for my run this weekend:)

Gym Stuff

I love everything up there, especially those shoes (these too) and the sports bra (I love this one and this one too)! I have a feeling that turquoise is going to be one of my colors of the summer.

Are any of you out there running a race this spring? How are you keeping yourself motivated?

Dear Friends,

What a day to celebrate! This is the 56th week of the Let’s Be Friends blog hop! Thanks for joining us on this special day. Chelsee and Tiffany are extremely delighted to see the way this hop has grown and love to see your faces each week!

Join us every Tuesday at 7am (MST). This blog hop focuses on content. LINK UP YOUR FAVORITE POST from last week in this fun content-sharing blog hop! I love the idea of blog hopping, but I love the idea of reading posts and quality content on new blogs I’ve never been to even more. Instead of simply linking up your blog button, you are now able to link up your favorite post you recently wrote. Have a delicious recipe to share, DIY tutorial, or heartfelt post? Share it with us! All hosts and co-hosts put up some unique and fun content from the past week. Make sure to check them out. P.S.- you may still link up your blog button and blog name, but it is encouraged to link up your favorite post instead. You will get more page views and interest if you do so! Some of the most successful blog hops I have participate in focus on content rather than just exchanging follows. You never know who will become a loyal follower or pin that delicious new recipe you posted!

The BEST part of this blog hop? Each week there will be a WINNER! That’s right, each week we will choose one lucky blog to feature from the previous week’s hop. This hop receives thousands of page views every week, so your blog will have the chance to be center stage for free. You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win. Only those who link up a specific post are eligible to be featured! *You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win.

The last exciting change is that the co-host spots will now be available to all sponsors of  The Dwelling Tree or Southern Beauty Guide. If you are interested in co-hosting the blog hop, email Tiffany or Chelsee about sponsorship opportunities and how to co-host the weekly hop!

***This weeks featured post from last week’s hop:

Hi everyone. This is Tiffany this week. Maybe it was the name of this blog post or the peculiar picture of cattle running, but I was very intrigued in reading this post. I am so glad I did! I will never forget my days working a catering job in college. I had always wanted to be an event planner, and then I started catering. I thought the job sounded so glamorous! Weddings, champagne, cocktail dresses- ah. Then I saw the real deal. Those event planners busted their butts. They worked the longest hours, mostly weekends, and were not afraid to get their hands dirty. They went from sneakers to high heels right before the event. They dealt with stressful scenarios (“Where are the flowers?!”, “Why is the best man drunk?!”). It was an eye-opener!

Then I got to do my own event planning for a health care company. It wasn’t glamorous events. It was races- think the Muddy Buddy or a century bike race. Stress city. I said “goodbye” for a while to event planning. It was fun and amazing, just very different from what I expected.

If you are interested in what an event planner REALLY does, check out this awesome post. I love reading what many of you do in real life, ha. It is so cool to hear about your other jobs and hobbies other than blogging!

Lamm to the Laughter is an inspiring and fun blog written by Brianne. Brianne is an event planner, equestrian and traveler. Her blog is lovely. She writes about anything from a creme brulee recipe to thoughts on being the, ahem, “perfect wife”. Go be her friend, already!
Keep posting awesome content! You make it so fun for me to read all your posts! If you can, please link up a specific post. It makes it easier for us to come and visit!

*Remember YOU can be next weeks winner! :)

My Favorite Pink Skirt

Pink skirt with denim jacket

Hi Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Ours was a bit lazy…again:) It rained ALL day on Saturday, which always makes me want to do absolutely nothing. Sunday was girl’s day with Chelsea. We got Starbucks and a pedicure because that lucky brat is going to Mexico next week. Jealous! Well, at least my toes feel like they’re going to Mexico…<sigh>

I really want those tan legs back…..yeah, those legs on the lefthand side from outfit 1. I miss tan skin, paddle boarding on the lake, and sunshiny days. <sigh> This skirt makes me even more excited for summer than I already am, it’s so bright and fun! I love basic pieces like this that you can create hundreds of outfits with. They really help you remix your closet and feel like you have more options.

What pieces in your closet are making you excited for summer?
