12 Days of Christmas Day 5: Chocolate Stir Spoons

12 Days of Christmas Recipes, Crafts, and StyleChocolate Mint Spoons for stirring your hot cocoa

Talk about an easy “recipe”….these spoons can be made in just a few minutes! I used mine for our hot chocolate bar at the holiday party this past weekend, but you could also use them at home or give them as gifts to people like teachers and coworkers! I thought this entire thing was going to be impossible since I don’t have a double boiler to melt the chocolate, but it turns out you don’t even need a double boiler to melt chocolate correctly! As shown in the picture below, I took a saucepan and filled it with water and started it boiling. Then I filled a smaller saucepan and filled it with my chocolate chips. I held the small saucepan over the water and made sure to stir pretty consistently. Once the chocolate is all melted I spooned it on to my plastic spoons and sprinkled with crushed mints. Voila! Chocolate dipped spoons! They are perfect for stirring hot cocoa, but would even give a great chocolate mint flavor to a cup of coffee!

The Creative Closet: Lady In Red

Plaid, pearls, and tulle

Today, I am co-hosting the Creative Closet link up party with Jana and Maegen! When I was deciding which week to sign up for I knew lady in red would be an awesome one, especially with Christmas right around the corner:) I am in LOVE with this outfit. The mixture of dressy and casual make me so happy! Plaid is huge this season and it’s always nice to have yet another new, interesting way to style your plaid button down.

12 Days of Christmas Day 4: Winter Wonderland Banner

12 Days of Christmas Recipes, Crafts, and StyleWalking In A Winter Wonderland Sign

Today’s post is a fun winter/Christmas themed banner! This one was used for a Winter Wonderland themed party, but you could always write Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays on the banner instead and use green and red colored ornaments and ribbons:) I used poster paint on a basic brown wrapping paper for the banner and then used crepe paper and different types of sparkly ribbon to hang ornaments from at the bottom. I taped each one individually to the back so that it didn’t put to much stress on the paper. I am super excited about how it turned out:) I used Command poster strips to hang it up so that it wouldn’t ruin the walls and they were awesome, highly recommend!

12 Days of Christmas Day 3: Snowflake Chandelier

12 Days of Christmas Recipes, Crafts, and Style

Happy Monday, Everyone! Welcome to day 3 of the 12 Days of Christmas! Today’s post is a super easy craft that can be used in SO many different ways, a snowflake chandelier! All you need is the following:

Snowflake Chandeliers

First thing is to add a few extra metal layers to your hoop with your silver wire. Just wrap it around the hoop and create a web of silver wire! Next cut your fish wire and start stringing on snowflakes. You can just tie a double knot around the plastic snowflakes and use a small piece of tape for the paper snowflakes. I made all of my paper snowflakes with regular white paper, but you could always buy some like these on Amazon. Tie the fishing line to the silver wire web and hoop. Keep making the snowflake strings until you have an entire chandelier worth! I tied the longest string in the center and made them shorter as they went out to the sides. Use the white tulle to tie the chandelier to the ceiling! We used ours as actual chandeliers for our company holiday party this past weekend, but you can do so many things with them!

  • Decorations for a Frozen Party
  • Baby mobile for over the crib
  • Above a child’s bed for winter decorations
  • Centerpieces at a Winter Wonderland Party
