Sparkles & Plaid

Sparkle sweater layered with button down shirt
If you don’t have a Costco membership, you either need one or need to find someone that has one. This sweater is everything. I went in for a few simples food items (and maybe to look at the Christmas stuff) and ended up wandering aimlessly for an hour and then buying this sweater. Yes, you heard me. This sweatshirt with those cute little sparkles on it is from Costco. (They also have navy blue if you are curious.) (And, also yes, I asked for it in navy for Christmas…so sue me!) For some reason, I just had this outfit in my head and I couldn’t say no. The next day, I popped out of bed with a big smile on my face and headed over to my closet to throw on my new outfit. It’s the little things in life people! I have actually worn it twice since I got the sweater a week and a half ago. (Once like this and another time with boyfriend jeans and my cute Lulu’s zebra flats- as I showed on Instagram here!) Yes, you could say that I become obsessed when I find an item I especially love:)

Oh, and by the way, this is also the softest sweater ever. It’s lightweight so it probably won’t keep you the warmest, but that makes it great for layering. I am in love and I can’t wait for my navy one to arrive once Santa has left on Christmas morning:) Have you found any awesome fashion steals at Costco before?

Plaid Under $50

Plaid under 50 bucksPlaid Under $50

Plaid isn’t going anywhere soon and I am SO thankful for that! I have been wearing so much of it (like herehere, and here) and with this bitter cold weather we have had for the past few days I have been bundling up in my plaid blanket scarf A LOT! I’ve found a bunch of plaid options for you that are all under $50…which you know makes me smile:) You can find pretty much anything in plaid these days, even blankets (yes, real ones), which I may need to invest in for my couch this Christmas! I’m really crushing on those plaid loafers and they are just like the J Crew ones, but a fraction of the price (try 1/3!). Hail to Nordstrom Rack! What’s your favorite plaid item?

Polka Dots and Teal

Polka dot sweater with a teal shirt

I am back from my 3 day weekend and I am SO tired! It was such a great weekend with our friends and I’m sad it’s over already. I love that our group of friends has stayed in touch so well and that we have such a great time when we’re all back together. I’m pretty sure I have eaten more food since they got in on Thursday than I usually do in two weeks time…no joke. Time to get back on the work out train and start my training schedule for the half marathon in March. Polka dot cardigan with teal button down Polka dots layered with teal top Polka dots and pearls Polka dot outfit inspiration Monogrammed gold bangle braceletGet The Look:

Shop Teal & Polka Dots:

This outfit is from last week and I love it! Layering is one of my favorite parts of fall and winter style and I have been dying to style this teal button down again since this post last fall. Once again, this polka dot sweater has been on repeat since I bought it earlier in the fall. It’s so comfortable and you really can’t go wrong with polka dots.  I’m still trying to play catch up from a busy weekend, so we’ll see if I make it back with a post tomorrow. If not, I will see you all on Thursday!

Wardrobe Versatility: One Dress Three Ways

All That Glitters: How to style a patterned dress three ways! She has cute clothes and each post tells where she gets them!
One of the most important things I want to give to my readers is the knowledge that you can take your wardrobe further than you ever thought possible. Yes, don’t get me wrong I love to shop and it’s great to buy new things each season, but I can always find a new fun way to remix something I already own as well. When I buy new things I like to sit in the dressing room and think of multiple different ways to wear an item. There are ALWAYS multiple ways:)
All That Glitters: How to style a patterned dress three ways! She has cute clothes and each post tells where she gets them!
This dress was purchased back in August and I have now documented three totally different ways of wearing it here on the blog. That’s not even mentioning the other 3 or 4 ways I have worn it that just never made it to the photography stage. A lot of women would look at a dress like this, add a necklace to it and maybe some heels and they would wear it pretty much the same way every time it came out of the closet. THIS! This is why we get sick of our wardrobes so quickly! We don’t mix and match our items! We don’t get creative and wild with our wardrobe pieces! Mixing it up is what will keep you excited about your clothing options. Add a hat, add a scarf, add a different scarf, add a DIFFERENT scarf. Layer on a vest or a cardigan.  Put it over a chambray shirt. Add a belt to it or choose different shoes. Pattern mix! There are SO many things you can do to change the look of any outfit you put on, you just have to be inspired:) So, here I am, that’s my job….to inspire you! Today I have 3 ways to wear this printed shirt dress!

Don’t let the fact that you don’t have this EXACT dress hold you back, take the accessories and add them to a fun patterned dress that you already have in your closet! And to show you that ALL of these pieces are versatile, here are a few posts for the other items showing them styled with other outfits!

Now, tell me honestly. If I came to work in one of these outfits per week, three weeks in a row would you say, “Oh, that Megan, she’s wearing that same boring dress again.”?
