Navy Stripes With Coral

I am so tired! This past weekend was my birthday weekend, and you know how that goes. We had to eat all the food and do ALL the activities. After brunching twice, walking a lot, eating more than my fill of Hopddody, playing Topgolf, and paddle boarding on the river I was exhausted come Sunday night. Then, we took our friend who was in town helping with the floods to Patrizi's, this amazing Italian food truck here in Austin, and sat there chatting for four hours. (Oh, and saw Zoe Deschanel too, but that's another story for another time:)) After our 4 hour chat, we realized that it was super late and we had to drive him all the way back down to Wimberely and then drive ourselves home. Needless to say, I was barely functioning on Monday morning. Then, to top it all off, my sister, her husband, their 3 kids and 2 dogs all came down on Monday night and stayed until Wednesday morning. Obviously we had to stay up late chatting and get no sleep again. So, last night was spent catching up on orders for my shop and relaxing. <sigh> It's always so much fun to have people in town and sad to see them go, but I am fully ready for a weekend of doing not much. I'm hoping to get a little bit of painting done around our house this weekend, and that's about it. Let's hope it's as relaxing as I'm thinking it will be:) Get The Look: Ross Striped Maxi // Statement Necklace from Rocksbox // Charming Charlie Clutch, Belt, & Texas Bracelet // Target Sunglasses & Sandals // JORD Wooden Watch This dress was a winner for sure. I got it for $12 at Ross and I have already worn it multiple times. I love the lace detail and I LOVE this necklace with it. It's my first purchase from a Rocksbox and I am SO in love with it! Side braids have been my go to hair style recently with all of this rain and humidity. I am so bummed at how this summer has started out. Usually by now it's in the 90's and beautiful every day and so far we've just had a lot of rain and humidity. Now, I can't really complain because this rain is getting us out of the drought, but I want to see some sunshine for more than a week! Haha! Oh well, I live in Texas...it will be absolutely beautiful in another week or so and there won't be a cloud in the sky for months:) Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far and has a beautiful weekend! Thanks for stopping by! PS: You can get your first Rocksbox for free with code

Star Spangled Sangria

Thinking about the 4th of July makes me all giddy inside. It is my absolute favorite holiday. People think I'm weird because Christmas is everyone else's favorite.....There is just something about the summer sun, lake water, the smell of sunscreen, and a little bit of sangria that makes me grin from ear to ear. Christmas is great and all, if you like all that cold weather stuff...but 4th of July is where its at:) Today's recipe inspiration came from a photo I saw on Pinterest if watermelon pieces cut into stars. I mean, how genius is that? I decided I needed a red, white, and blue cocktail with these watermelon stars on a stick for some added flair! It turned out pretty awesome if I don't say so my self! Ingredients: 1 bottle of white wine Watermelon Strawberries Blueberries Vodka Triple Sec Sparkling Wine or club soda Directions: 1. First, you are going to want to cut up your fruit. Slice the strawberries and throw them into a big mixing bowl. Add the blueberries. To make watermelon stars, slice your watermelon and use a star cookie cutter to cut out the shapes. Throw those on in the bowl too! (Save a few stars for your garnish!) 2. Next add about 2 shots of vodka (More if you have a LOT of fruit) and a shot of triple sec. Mix this up with the fruit. If your fruit isn't mostly covered, add more! 3. Refrigerate this concoction for a couple of hours until the fruit has soaked up a bit of the liquor. 4. Put the fruit into a carafe or pitcher, add white wine, and sparkling wine or club soda. 5. Put one of your un-soaked stars onto a kebob skewer and place it in your drink! 6. VOILA! Star spangled, red, white, and blue Sangria! I hope you all enjoy! I'm going to go dream about the 4th of July and wish it was closer than 2 weeks away:)

Birthday Weeks Are The Best!

Blue Old Navy Dress with multi-colored bag

Tomorrow is my birthday and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I don’t know what it is about birthdays that make me happy, but even though I am another year closer to being 30, I am still pumped. Maybe it’s the fact that I am requiring my husband to take me to get the best burger in Austin…or maybe it’s the red velvet Nothing Bundt Cake that we’re getting to celebrate with? Birthdays are all about the food for me. I may be doing very well with my whole 30 type diet I have going on…but on my birthday I’m having a burger, fries, AND cake! Calories just don’t count on your birthday (week) and I plan to run with that….

I’m pretty sure I have this dress in each and every color and pattern that it came in. I bought the blue seersucker one first, and then they all went on sale online one night for $9 and I bought the rest. You can’t beat a comfy dress that is flattering and brightly colored:) This necklace has been on repeat non-stop since I bought it. It goes with so many different things and I am in love with it! I also love that it cost me under $10 at Sam Moon! What? Yeah..under 10 bucks is a steal!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, I may or not be posting tomorrow…we shall see how I feel about it:) All I know is that I’m leaving early on Friday and I plan to do whatever I want for the next 3 days straight! Yay me!

Guess that just means I’m having fun with life, which is a good thing:)  We got a lot accomplished this weekend….cleaned the entire house, fixed the pool up…got in a little sun and some pool time with Sophie:) We even bought tickets to go to Europe and to Michigan twice! Look how accomplished we are! We have so many things to look forward to this year and I am beyond excited! :)

Gold Dots & Lace

Gold-dots-tee-with-black-lace-shorts

Summer is here in Texas, it’s official! Summer is my absolute favorite season. I love sun dresses, shorts, and sandals. I love weekend’s in the sun and at the water. I love going to my Grandparent’s lake house for our family reunion. <sigh> I just LOVE summer! Let’s hope that this weekend is a beautiful one and that we can get some stuff done around the outside of our house that we haven’t been able to do since all of this rain began last month. I’m really in need of some sunlight and getting it while gardening sounds like the perfect way for it to happen:)  Gold-dots-tee-with-black-lace-shorts Gold-polka-dot-t-shirt-and-lace-shorts Groopdealz-Gold-Dot-T-Shirt Gold-dots-tee-with-black-lace-shorts Gold-polka-dot-shirt-with-black-shorts

This outfit makes me really excited for the weeks to come. I spotted these shorts when I stopped by the Ross in town and snagged them immediately. I won’t lie, I’ve never been a huge Ross fan, but after a coworker of mine came to work wearing some adorable items multiple times in a row, I had to check it out. I got these shorts and a navy striped maxi for under $30!
This top has been one of my favorites for a while now, and it still makes me happy every time I put it on. How could it not? Gold AND polka dots?! :) I hope you are all having a wonderful week and Happy Friday Eve!!
