Color Crush: Navy And Cognac

Looking back at this outfit, I wish I would have worn a belt. Lol. Do you ever do that? Wear something and then look back at a picture of you in it and wish you had done it differently? I just feel like it’s too flowy and doesn’t give me any shape. I mean, it’s not horrible, but a belt would have helped to accentuate my waist. Oh well, you live and you learn right? Charming Charlie has done it again! This whole outfit, minus the denim, is from there and I love every bit of it! Even though I wish the top was a little more figure flattering, I really do like it…and it’s super comfy:) I have never really been one for blues in my fashion pieces, but blues and browns together are quickly becoming one of my new favorite fall color schemes. I wore it last week here and I’m pretty sure that’s when I fell in love. Or maybe it was when I first found this handbag in Charming Charlie. Either way, you can be sure I will be wearing much more of it in the near future:)

Plaid Madness

There is SO much plaid going on right now! Everywhere you look there are plaid scarves, plaid shirts, plaid shoes, it’s madness and I love it! Plaid is, in my opinion, such a timeless pattern and it’s one of those that will never “go out of style”. Plaid reminds me of my childhood. You see, I had about 10 plaid skirts when I was in 5th grade. I remember because my Grandmother took me back to school shopping at The Limited Too and I bought all of them there along with their matching sweater vests and button downs. Yes, I was a preppy little 10 year old. It also reminds me a bit of Scotland and their kilts, where I visited as a child. You see, all sorts of childhood nostalgia comes along with plaid for me, which is probably why I like it so much:)

Everyone and their mother has the Zara blanket scarf, which is part of the reason I decided to get this one instead. They actually had a scarf identical to one from Zara at Target and I avoided that one as well. I was drawn to this one for some reason. Perhaps it was the bright red color or perhaps it was the softness, either way I love it and I will not be ashamed of my jumping on the plaid bandwagon! What fun fall bandwagons have you jumped on this year?

Black Lace Shorts And Knee High Boots

Hi Lovelies!

So, just a disclaimer: I twisted my ankle this weekend when Sophie dragged me down a hill, and then when I ran yesterday I really hurt it, oops. So, here I sit with my ankle iced and a puppy in my lap, in so much pain I can barely think of anything to write. So, on that note, I apologize if this post is mostly pictures. All I can really bring myself to say is that I am not a shorts kid of lady…I have never really liked my legs or had much confidence rocking shorts. When I saw these cute lacy shorts at Target I figured I would give them a go, and I am so glad I did! I love them! Don’t mind the extremely pale legs! Lol!

Jewel Tones And A Little Plaid

Hi Lovelies!

It has been chilly here in Texas for the past few days, and I have been taking that weather as a chance to wear all of my fall/winter clothing before it gets warm again. I have to say though, as much as I love warm weather style I am so ready for spring. I know, I know, we have had some really nice weather here too…in fact it’s supposed to be in the high 60’s today and the high 70’s again this weekend too:) Woohoo! Look forward to some sunny spring outfits on the blog next week!

You may remember this dress from this post where I wore it pretty simply with nude flats and some gold jewelery. I decided to dress it a little more casually today with some mustard tights and my favorite boots. Tights really are one of my favorite ways to change up the look of a dress and I love the mix of the jewel tones here!

By the way, totally off topic, but I would highly recommend going to your local Charming Charlie and finding this watch. I have gotten more compliments on it than probably any other jewelery item I own.

A Little Bit Of Fringe

Hi Lovelies!

As I’m sure you are aware (because the Texas bloggers/people in general cannot stop talking about it), it is COLD here. All I have to say is mad props go to those fashion bloggers up in the north. I do not know how they do it. What I do know is that If I have to take pictures in the cold again I might just cry. I hate to say it, but being cold doesn’t make me a very good photographer. Not only was it cold and uncomfortable, but I was attempting to keep the camera from being blown over by the wind. So…..I’m sorry for the somewhat blurry pictures:-\

I was a little bit bummed when I saw that these pictures were blurry, because this top is one of my favorites and I really wanted it to look great. <sigh> I had far too little time to go back and take more…sooooo boo:( Anyways, I used to wear this top all the time when I worked at Charming Charlie because it fit in with the black and white dress code, but I haven’t worn it much since. I just found it in the back of my closet and got so excited because I had forgotten about it!:)
