Summer Colors & Body Talk

Red white and blue outfit inspiration

Happy hump day! I hope everyone in Texas is enjoying the GORGEOUS weather we’ve been having all week. It was almost 80 degrees yesterday! It’s supposed to cool down a little bit by the weekend, but I still can’t complain about 60s when everywhere else is swamped with snow and frigid cold!
All this warm weather has really gotten me thinking about our annual trip to Michigan this summer…hence the red, white, and blue outfit! This combo is one of my favorites! You may recognize the sweater from a month or so back, I wore it here in grey. Well, I loved it so much that I had my Momma get me one for Christmas in navy:) It’s super soft and I will still never get over the fact that I found it at Costco!

I have to say, it’s been harder for me to post photos of myself lately. I have felt a little yucky about my body lately and I know exactly why. I stopped going to my bootcamp back before Christmas because it got to cold for me at 5:00AM (I’m a wimp). Ever since then I have been a little “softer” than I would like to be. I have run a bit and will be going to a gym once it opens next month, but I really need to get back on track. If you follow often, I posted about my fitness goals here a few weeks ago, and I have been pretty good at the eating healthier portion of it all…just not the working out part. I am getting together a fitness routine for myself that I’ll be sure to post on Fitness Friday next month for you all to see. I really want to get myself into good shape before the summer comes so that I can look great in that flamingo bikini I bought last year:) Who’s with me?

Plaid Under $50

Plaid under 50 bucksPlaid Under $50

Plaid isn’t going anywhere soon and I am SO thankful for that! I have been wearing so much of it (like herehere, and here) and with this bitter cold weather we have had for the past few days I have been bundling up in my plaid blanket scarf A LOT! I’ve found a bunch of plaid options for you that are all under $50…which you know makes me smile:) You can find pretty much anything in plaid these days, even blankets (yes, real ones), which I may need to invest in for my couch this Christmas! I’m really crushing on those plaid loafers and they are just like the J Crew ones, but a fraction of the price (try 1/3!). Hail to Nordstrom Rack! What’s your favorite plaid item?

Fur and Plaid

Plaid and Fur mix

Hi Lovelies!

I have such mixed feelings right now. I am so happy that I am still able to wear this fur vest, because I haven’t worn it very much yet. At the same time, I am so unhappy that I am able to wear this fur vest, because that means that it’s cold outside. I know, I know….I’m pretty sure I am beating a dead horse over here with the weather talk, but I am so over the cold. 45 degrees and Megan do not mix.

This outfit came together in this post a while back, and I finally put it together this week:) It makes me happy to pair something that usually has a masculine connotation like a plaid shirt, with something as feminine as fur. I am really loving the huge collar on this vest too, it’s awesome for those cold windy days we have been having.

What unexpected pairs have you been styling in your closet lately?
