Polka Dots & Pink

I have worn this outfit multiple times since I got this polka dot top in November and I LOVE it. I saw a picture on Pinterest that had a polka dot button down and a magenta sweater and I KNEW that was how I was going to style it. I searched for a pink sweater for a while before I found this one at Target. It’s perfect! Who doesn’t love black, white, and pink together?! That’s what I thought! These photos are from a few weeks ago before I trimmed my hair, but I haven’t had a ton of time to post them. Here I am though! Miss me? :)

Again, I am in love with this outfit, and am so happy that SheIn contacted me and offered to have me style a piece of theirs!  It took a week or so to get the top, but once I received it, it was definitely worth it. It’s not a cheap, thin material and actually has some substance to it unlike some chiffon type tops I’ve found. I will be ordering some more items for spring soon, including this dress I’ve had my eye on!

Black Floral Shift

Old Navy Shift DressIt’s been such a busy week for me. I’ve had so much to do at work and I have finally been getting back to working out after a week of having bronchitis. On top of that, I’ve had a lot of orders to fill and I’ve been trying to get my house back into shape after not feeling like cleaning with my illness. Needless to say, blogging on Monday and Tuesday didn’t happen, but even though it’s late I was bound and determined to get a style post up tonight! Woohoo! It is what I wore Wednesday after all, eh? Haha! Today’s outfit is one of my recent faves. I am so glad that I bought this dress earlier in the summer because I have worn it SO many times! It’s comfy AND it’s cute…oh and the necklace I got in my rocksbox back when I bought it matched so well that I bought it:) Tehehe!Rocksbox statement necklaceOld Navy black and floral dressCoral and green outfitBlack and green floral dressInitial bangle braceletBlack floral Old Navy Shift DressGet The Look:

I knew that I needed to keep this necklace when I wore it to dinner with my parents and my Mom told me that it looked like it was made for this dress. She talked me into it…you know, really twisted my arm;-) Haha! You can get your first month of Rocksbox for free with the code meganbff58. Who doesn’t want free designer jewelry in their mailbox?! :)Well, I’m off for the night…I will see you lovelies later!

Making The Average Pop

Black and white and pink outfit- from Kendra Scott and Old Navy

What an absolutely beautiful weekend we had here! The sun was shining, it was a beautiful temperature, and I wore dresses the entire time:) It felt like such a productive weekend too! I got in over 17,000 steps on my Jawbone Saturday, went for a 2.63 mile run, made a great new recipe, did some housework, and still managed to spend some time hangin’ with the husband watching New Girl on Netflix! <Sigh> Is it Friday again yet?

Today’s outfit is one from the beautiful weekend. This dress from Old Navy has been one of my favorites since I bought it last fall and I have been dying to wear it again in some warm weather, WITHOUT tights! Sometimes all it takes to add a little pizazz (yes, I just said the word pizazz) to an outfit is throwing in a pop of color. It’s amazing how one bright color can liven up the entire black and white outfit! For those of your questioning a Kendra Scott purchase like the Rayne necklace, let me just tell you I LOVE mine. I had thought about this magenta one for MONTHS before I actually bought up the courage to spend the $$$, but it was well worth the wait. I have worn this baby with so many different outfits and it always, without a doubt MAKES the entire outfit. Pick a color that will pop, but will match a lot of your clothing and you should be good to go. I also have it in the black and gold which I love for outfits that are already bright, but the magenta is by far my favorite. I am a pink girl after all:) #ilovepink

Tights Are My Winter Savior

What to wear to work- Black lace midi dress with black blazerYou guys…I am ALL about the dresses. Pants are probably my least favorite clothing item and I hate them. Dresses and skirts are the most comfortable items in a girl’s closet, in my opinion, and I am not about to say goodbye to them just because it’s getting colder outside. Oh no. Tights. Tights are where it is at! I have pretty much every color tights you can imagine in my closet and I wear them ALL THE TIME during the winter. Layered with some cute boot cuffs and boots is my favorite way….or you can go simple like my outfit today!

Shop Lace Dresses:
I got these tights from Kushyfoot, and they are awesome. First, I love that they don’t go all the way up my torso to my bra. Those “control top” ones just make me claustrophobic. Second, they don’t cut in to your sides. No one likes that weird line where your tights cut into your side skin and make you look like you have an awkward roll. Now, maybe I just never have bought the right kind before now….but these tights don’t do that, it’s awesome!
I love that because of tights, I am going to be able to wear this dress through any weather. It’s got to be one of my all time favorite dresses and I don’t wear it nearly as often as I should. When there isn’t a blazer covering me from the winds you can see the shape of it a little better and it almost reminds me of a 50’s housewife dress. It curves in all the right places and really shows off your shape:) Love. I did get these tights for free from Kushyfoot, but I can honestly say that I would buy them regardless. They are comfortable and they are well priced. You can get a three pack for $20.97, and let’s be honest…I am not the most delicate little flower ever and ruin tights at least once per season. Ruin one? Have two more left…ha!All That Glitters Blog Signature
**I received the tights mentioned above for free from Kushyfoot. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.**

Keeping Up With The Joneses

White Sweater with leggings- casual cozy outfit

Last night, I met up with the beautiful Lee Ann from Life in ATX to have some coffee and chat. First of all, what a sweet heart she is! :) We were chatting about all things blogging, obviously, and one topic came up that I have been thinking a lot about lately- how to keep up with the blogging world. Everywhere you look in the blogging community you see $700 handbags, $300 flats, and everything is designer. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my Kate Spade planner and I do have a few (really tiny) designer bags (MK, Kate Spade, and Rebecca Minkoff), but these were purchased either on sale or at Nordstrom Rack. There is a point where I have to draw the line. I feel like a big thing that comes along with blogging is figuring out how NOT to give in to the pressure to buy anything and everything! I take pride in the fact that most of my outfits come from affordable and highly available retailers. I want to show my readers how to style items that they have in their closet or can at least afford to buy! It’s nice to look at that $500 dress with those $1000 heels, but it’s just not realistic to me. Even with all the money in the world I don’t think I could justify those kind of purchases. I would rather have 10 $50 dresses than 1 $500 dress, I like a little variety.

The  handbag in this outfit is probably my biggest splurge ever, I used two $50 gift cards I won at work and paid $48 for. I had anxiety even buying that, lol.  That being said, if you see anything designer on here, it was debated upon in my head for over a month and it’s GOT to be good! 😉 I just have to keep telling myself that I would rather have money saved for the days when we decide to start a family than have those Tory Burch flats. (I think…haha!) Stay strong budgeting ladies, you’re not alone!
