Memorial Day Inspiration

Hi Lovelies!

Memorial day came SO quickly this year I didn’t get much of a chance to plan. I don’t have a specific outfit planned out, I don’t have my menu together, and I don’t have set plans. This is SO unlike me! I am little miss planner who makes 15 to do lists per day, and it is driving me nuts that I don’t have anything set! Lol!

Wes and I were going to take a trip up to Michigan, but once we bought the house we realized that we just needed more time to get everything together. That, and spending $1000 on plane tickets was not going to happen after that whole house purchase thing…you know, kind of expensive. Haha! So, now we plan to relax, get our new house all together, and hang out in our wonderful new backyard! We had already taken Friday off to go up to Michigan, so we have a 4 day weekend too! Don’t be jealous:) Just kidding, totally be jealous…it’s going to be fantastic!

This is what I *WISH* I was going to be wearing this weekend. These shoes are the cutest things I have ever seen, and the shorts will be in my closet as soon as I go purchase them! Haha!

What will you be wearing this Memorial Day?

Polka Dot And Floral: A Scarf For Spring

Fraas polka dot scarf

Hi Lovelies!

When I was asked to share this FRAAS scarf with you guys I was a little concerned that it would be too hot out for me to get it on to the blog, but I was determined to find a way! It’s hard to tell in pictures, but it is very lightweight which makes it perfect for spring! There are so many fun ways to tie a scarf, most of which are listed here, but you have to remember that tying a scarf too tight when it’s warmer outside is just going to make you uncomfortable and claustrophobic. This tying style is perfect for the Texas spring weather since it is so warm down here already.

Polka dot scarves in different colors

With all of this heat, it can be so easy to just fall into a boring yet comfortable clothing rut. Sometimes you just need to jazz up your outfit a little bit, and bright accessories like this polka dot scarf are a great way to do that! You know me, I LOVE polka dots, so this one is the perfect one for me, but they have hundreds of scarves that are just as lightweight, soft, and fun to choose from on the Fraas website as well as on Amazon! This one in particular is $32, so they are pretty affordable and are great for spring!

Nautical Inspiration

Cut nautical inspired red white and blue outfit

Hi Lovelies!

This last week has been SO busy for Wes and I, but it has been totally worth it! We are officially homeowners and have moved most of our stuff into our new house! I have been going crazy trying to get everything unpacked and in place, hence why I didn’t have a post prepared for yesterday:) I do have a great outfit for you today though! This one is nautically inspired, which is really the best when it’s 80 and sunny outside like it has been here in Austin. This Target skirt is one of my favorites, because I can pair pretty much any color with the navy and it looks adorable. It’s super comfortable too. I bought it last year, but they always seem to have the same skirt in different patterns and such every year.

These tanks from Target are my ABSOLUTE favorites! I just so happened to be strolling through Target the other day and notice that they were on sale for $6. Obviously I grabbed one in every color and have been wearing them constantly since. They are so soft and comfortable, and I love that they look fine all by themselves without looking cheap. They aren’t $6 anymore, but according to Target.com, if you buy 2 you save 10%, and if you buy 3 you save 20%. Enjoy!

A Girl’s Love For A Romper

Black romper with aztec clutch

Hi Lovelies!

This romper! I was strolling through Forever 21 with Chelsea and I saw this on the mannequin. I needed it, obviously. I have told you before and I will tell you again, I am NOT a huge fan of shorts. In fact, I have only worn shorts a select few times on the blog (Here, here, here, & here), but this romper is going to be a regular in my summer wardrobe. I’m pretty sure it’s the fact that the legs are loose and it looks almost like a dress…but oh my, I love it. It’s comfortable and I just love the lace trim at the bottom.

I’ve been wearing this fedora a lot lately. Everyone always says that they can’t pull off hats, and I used to think the same, but I promise you that you can! Fedoras look great on everyone, as do those floppy hats:) Hats are just fantastic for the summer sun, and they can make even the most ordinary outfit look fabulous! Oh yeah, and if you haven’t noticed the necklace, you should probably go back and take a look. Yeah, that’s right, it’s a camel. A camel for hump day. What could be better than that? Nothing…except maybe Friday…Friday really needs to get here fast…

Dressing Up The Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans and wedges

Hi Lovelies!

This week has absolutely FLOWN by. I swear, I didn’t believe it as a child, but the older you get the faster time seems to go. I can’t complain because that means the weekend is almost upon us again, but seriously, time needs to slow down! It’s supposed to rain here this weekend, but I hope it lets up for a little while so that I can add on to my tan from last weekend. Can ya see it? Can ya? It’s totally there!

Today’s outfit is inspired by one of my favorite bloggers, Megan from For All Things Lovely. She is the best girl I know at dressing up a pair of boyfriend jeans and a tee with some cute heels. I am always looking for a way to make an outfit like this one a little more girlie and throwing on a pair of heels really is the best way! Only one problemo. Megan+heels=very unstable. I love, LOVE heels, but I am not the most coordinated person on this earth and wearing heels usually ends up with me on the floor. If I don’t fall over, I get uncomfortable after a few hours and need to take them off. This is why I got REALLY excited when Kushyfoot wanted to send me a pair of flats to go. They are so light and thin they fit right in your purse, but they are actually pretty comfortable! I have always been really smart with my heels and have brought along sandals or flats with me, but I cannot tell you how many times I have had to take a larger purse when going out because of them. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to be wearing them to work all day, or for more than a few hours while out with friends, but when your feet are dying these things are the best ten bucks you will have ever spent!

Do you take flats with you when you go out in heels?
