Chambray and Coral

Hi Lovelies!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I was up in the Dallas area for my nephew’s 4th birthday party. We all went to the fire house, learned about fire safety, and got a tour of the facilities. We even got to see the firefighters get dispatched to an emergency! The kids had a blast. The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with my parents and then driving back down here to Austin. I did get a chance to take a few outfit photos while I was up there….this first one is casual, but still cute enough to wear out and about on the weekend:) Hope you all like!

I’m not really sure what drew me to these shorts at first…I just know that out of all the patterns they had I couldn’t stop coming back to these. They are so comfortable, and I love that they aren’t super tiny, booty shorts. I feel like it’s next to impossible to find shorts that aren’t super short anymore. When I finally found some, I knew I needed them:) I have worn them all summer, with pretty much every color imaginable…but I really love how they look with the chambray top!

Until tomorrow…

Mustard: Two Ways

Hi Lovelies,

Last night’s party was a hit! That being said, I am exhausted and alas, I do not have an outfit post for you today. Sorry! What I do have for you is two wonderful ways to wear mustard this fall. Yellow is one of my favorite colors (right behind pink) and it makes me so happy that this shade allows for yellow to be taken in to fall!  I really want to recreate this black and white look when I go to NYC in a few weeks. Oh, by the way, I am going to NYC in a few weeks! Yeah, nice way to sneak that in there….don’t be too jealous:) I will be sure to take millions of pictures and update you all on how the trip is when I get back! So, anyways, outfit #1…super comfortable, but still cute and fashionable:

Outfit #2 brings in a little bit of navy. Which, in my opinion, looks absolutely perfect with mustard. Love this one too…

Teal And Gold: A Work Party Dress

Hi Lovelies!

As I mentioned yesterday, I have a company party tonight. My company has a big bash every year on their anniversary and it is in my job description to plan it. :) I had a lot of fun planning it, but it was definitely a bit stressful making sure that all the men wouldn’t hate it. Lol. Anyways, I decided that this would be a great opportunity to show you a cute work party look!

I got this dress last fall at Charming Charlie and I think it fits the bill perfectly! The color is perfect for fall, the cut is perfect for work, and it’s not tight and uncomfortable! This last point is key for me, since our party will include all you can eat barbecue! I am also considering wearing my DIY skirt extender under it for a little added length. I will be sure to write a post including my DIY skirt extender soon, because it is the coolest thing I have ever made! :) Well, here you go, my office party look:

Hi Lovelies!

It has been SUCH a hectic week for me. My company has it’s 14th anniversary party this Thursday and I am in charge of planning the whole thing. That makes me busy, busy, busy! Therefore, I don’t have a whole lot to say today…sorry! I did want to post this outfit though…

I bought the top when Chelsea and I went to the outlets in San Marcos a few months ago and I love it. It is really comfortable and it goes really well with some black leggings. This time I decided to change it up and wear it with my (relatively) new favorite jeans. These are so, so comfortable!

One Pot Tomato Basil Pasta

OnePotTomatoBasilPasta

Hi Lovelies!

I have seen this recipe floating around Pinterest a lot lately, and decided that I needed to give it a try! I have to say I was a little worried that it would turn into a Pinterest Fail…but it was SO good and SO easy! I would say it is definitely a Pinterest win!

OnePotTomatoBasilPasta

EasyOnePotTomatoBasilPasta

OnePotTomatoBasilPastaandBruschettaBread

One Pot Tomato Basil Pasta:

Ingredients:

  • 1 box fettuccine pasta
  • 1 package cherry tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 32oz vegetable broth
  • 8oz frozen spinach
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Basil and Oregano to taste

Step by step:

  1. Cut cherry tomatoes in half, dice onions, and thinly slice garlic
  2. Break pasta in half and place in large pan
  3. Place all cut vegetables in same pan
  4. Pour your spinach into pan (no need to thaw)
  5. Pour in vegetable broth and olive oil
  6. Season with basil and oregano
  7. Turn up the heat so that the concoction is boiling
  8. Stir every few minutes, but never let it stop boiling
  9. Once the mixture has boiled down completely, it is ready!

This is fabulously simple! You literally let it boil for 10-15 minutes and the starches from the pasta, as well as the tomatoes, etc. form this amazing sauce! I will definitely being doing this again soon!

OnePotPastaandBread

Now, for the bread in the last picture! I went to HEB and bought a ciabatta loaf and spread butter on it. (I was going to use garlic butter, but HEB didn’t have any. I would have gone elsewhere, but it was a lazy Sunday…and it was Harry Potter weekend on ABC Family…I wasn’t going anywhere else.) I thinly sliced a little garlic and put it on top of the butter. I then put some sliced tomatoes and real mozzarella slices on top and baked it in the oven until it was a little crispy and the cheese was melted. This was ALSO fantastic!

Not to toot my own horn or anything…but I am a damn good cook when Pinterest gives me the recipe:) Haha! I hope you all enjoy and FOR SURE give it a try!

Oh, and a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Groopdealz! If you haven’t checked them out, YOU SHOULD! They are having a HUGE giveaway for their birthday so you should CLICK HERE to go enter!
