When it’s gloomy and cold outside Megan doesn’t do very well with motivation. Everything was just off yesterday: the weather was awful, my ankle hurt, I didn’t feel very good, it was just a blah day. Heres to a better day today! Woohoo!

I really wasn’t excited about this skirt when I tried it on because of the whole ‘horizontal stripes make you look fat’ thing, but I am really glad I didn’t listen to my instincts this time! I love this skirt! It’s really comfortable for a pencil skirt and it goes with pretty much anything. If you remember a while ago I styled it here with a polka dot shirt and some yellow accessories and it looked fab then too!  I would totally wear this look with some black tights and a cardigan for work, or as is to go out with the girls on Friday night:) Versatile outfits are my best friend:)

Bourbon And Boots: Fly

Fly necklace from Bourbon and Boots

Hi Lovelies!

You may remember this outfit from last week. It was definitely a step out of my comfort zone layering a T-shirt with a dress, but the the one thing that definitely wasn’t out of my comfort zone was this necklace from Bourbon and Boots. If you know me, you know that I am obsessed with jewelry…just a little:) Jewelry is just one of those things that I believe can truly make or break an outfit. I really think the delicate nature of this necklace mixed with a touch of southern really helped to pull this whole outfit together.

When I was contacted and told that they wanted to send me this necklace I just about died with excitement. First of all, Bourbon and Boots is one of those websites that all Southern girls love, and second, I just think this necklace is the cutest thing ever! It’s hand stamped, it’s a mix of metals and I just love the little word on it, “Fly“. The word fly makes me think about being free and wild, and I think that is the perfect motto for all women, young and old:)

Black Lace Shorts And Knee High Boots

So, just a disclaimer: I twisted my ankle this weekend when Sophie dragged me down a hill, and then when I ran yesterday I really hurt it, oops. So, here I sit with my ankle iced and a puppy in my lap, in so much pain I can barely think of anything to write. So, on that note, I apologize if this post is mostly pictures. All I can really bring myself to say is that I am not a shorts kid of lady…I have never really liked my legs or had much confidence rocking shorts. When I saw these cute lacy shorts at Target I figured I would give them a go, and I am so glad I did! I love them! Don’t mind the extremely pale legs! Lol!

Happy Monday: A Weekend Recap

Hi Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Mine was filled with some DIY fun at home, birthday partying it up with a friend, and a very scenic hike through the Milton Reimer’s Ranch Park in Dripping Springs. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend over 75 and sunny the whole time….<sigh> Well, Sunday was the big hiking day, and we accidentally found this awesome park on the Pedernales river right next to Hamilton Pool State Park. We were going to go to Hamilton Pool, but they wouldn’t let Miss. Sophie in and we had to bring her because the owners of our house are selling and there was an open house…blah! I have to say though, it was JUST as awesome and we had a blast with our friends just hiking around and laying in the sun:) Wes took some fabulous pictures too, check ’em out!
