Layering Up Because Fall Is Finally Here In Texas

Burgundy leopard and Chambray outfit inspiration

Happy hump day, everyone! Fall is FINALLY here in Austin! Woohoo! The weather this past weekend and the last two days has be beautiful. It’s great during the day, but I have to admit it is a bit nippy in the morning at bootcamp. I’ve had to pull out my long sleeved work out tops and my capris to get through until I start sweating! I’m excited though because that means that my fall outfits can be worn without the profuse sweating I have been enduring! Haha! Well, even with the cooler days we’ve been having the skirt is back. I only bought it a couple of weeks ago and I’ve already worn it to work multiple times and to go out shopping with my Momma. It’s comfy and it is the best fall color ever! And that cardigan! I have been wanting a new leopard cardigan for a while now, because the one I have doesn’t fit very well. I saw this one in Target and I LOVED the fact that the leopard is only on the front. I think it gives it a little bit of character that a plain old leopard cardigan doesn’t have. I also think it makes it look a little classier:) Burgundy and Leopard- Great fall outfit Leopard Cardigan and Chambray Leopard Print and Burngundy Skirt Burgundy Chambray and Leopard Print Old Navy and Target Outfit Inspiration Chambray top with burgundy skirt and cardigan Leopard and Burgundy outfit for fallGet The Look:

My only complaint with the outfit is that I think the chambray under the cardigan makes you look a little bulky, but it’s not too bad with the chambray tucked in to the skirt. How do you prevent the bulk when layering for fall and winter? Let me know in the comments below!

Polka Dots And Plaid: Getting Brave With Pattern Mixing

Pattern Mixing with plaid and polka dots

Really y’all…I am getting SO brave with this pattern mixing thing, and this outfit makes me SO excited! I love the colors, I love the patterns, I love the red lips. I love this outfit. I have read so many posts about “rules” for pattern mixing. I’ve even written a few about “tips” for pattern mixing. I have to say, after this outfit, throw all of that out the window. If you like it, I say go for it:) That has really been my motto for the past few months. I am trying to get over the self conscious, “What do other people think?” that goes on it my brain, and just go for what I like and what makes me feel awesome. This one makes me feel awesome.

Cinnamon Apple Pork Roast

Cinnamon Apple Pork in Crock Pot Cinnamon apple pork roast- I had never heard of such a thing! Little did I know it would be one of the most tender, sweet, and delicious fall recipes I have ever made!I was wandering Pinterest the other day and came across some apple pork chops. Curious, I searched for apples and pork in the search bar an up came some recipes for apple pork loin! The more I looked at them, the more I knew I needed to make my own version! I made a trip to Central Market to get all the ingredients and got to work on our dinner for the next day. That’s one of my favorite things about crock pot recipes, I can get everything together at night, throw it on in the morning, and when I come home from work at night dinner is already done!

I started by taking 2 granny smith apples and cutting them into thin slices. I lined my crock pot with them, saving a few for the actual roast itself. Cinnamon Apple Pork I then made slits in my pork roast and shoved the apple slices in to those slits. Cinnamon Apple Pork Roast Next, I placed the pork roast on top of the apples and lined the sides with them as well. Yes, it is quite a bit of apple, but it gives oh so much flavor! Cinnamon Apple Pork Loin Once all of the apples were in place I sprinkled brown sugar, cinnamon, and a bit of extra virgin olive oil all over the entire thing. You could probably leave out the brown sugar if you don’t want the added sugar, but it really made it delicious, so I would’t cut it out:) Crock Pot Cinnamon Apple Pork The sides I chose were green beans and fingerling potatoes. I sliced them up and placed them on top of the apples to the side of the meat. I then sprinkled them with cinnamon, salt, pepper, and a few other little spices. I even threw in about a clove of chopped garlic since the hubby likes it so much! Crock Pot Cinnamon Apple Pork with veggiesAfter it was all done, I put the cover on and stored it in the fridge over night. When I woke up the next morning I put it on the cooker part of my slow cooker and poured in a little bit of broth, just enough to come half way up the meat. I used beef broth, but you could use any kind you may have on hand. I added a little more pepper and cinnamon and let it cook all day while I was at work. I am SUCH a crockpot fanatic, who doesn’t want to put your meal in a pot and not have to worry about it all day?! This is the one I use and I LOVE it. Only $30! Let me tell you…it was so juicy and tender, I didn’t even need a knife. A lot of the recipes I saw didn’t put any sort of liquid in their slow cooker and I think that makes the meat really tough, the liquid is the key! I also saw a bunch without brown sugar, which I think gave it a lot of taste. It was flavorful enough to eat without a barbecue sauce, but not too sweet. It really was just perfect! My husband and I devoured this one, and he is pretty tough to please!

Ingredients:

  • Pork roast
  • Cinnamon
  • Brown Sugar
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Broth (I used beef)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 or 3 granny smith apples
  • Fingerling potatoes
  • Green Beans

Enjoy this wonderful fall recipe! I know I’ll be making it again soon! Love this recipe? Check out my round up of apple recipes! All That Glitters Blog Signature

10 MORE Ways To Wear A Scarf

10 more ways to wear a scarf

You may remember my original 10 ways to wear a scarf post from last fall. Well, it was wildly popular from the Pinterest crowd and having found even MORE ways to tie a scarf over the last year, I decided to share them with y’all! I know there are plenty more ways that I just haven’t found yet, so I’m sure I’ll have another post for you next fall of all the new ones from this fall! Stay tuned for that! Well, here you have it, 10 more ways to wear a scarf:

10 more ways to wear a scarf
1. Wrap the scarf around your neck twice as closely to your neck as possible. When both ends are back to the front, tie them loosely together once.

2. Place the scarf around your neck so that both ends hang to the front. Tie a bow as close to your neck as possible.

3. Tie the ends of your scarf together. Place the tied end at the nape of your neck and let the rest of the scarf drape down the front.

4. Tie the ends of your scarf together, place around your neck. Wrap the scarf around your neck a second time and tuck the tied ends under the scarf. Fluff.

5. Tie two opposite corners of your scarf together. Place knot in back and loop the scarf around your head and body. Pull thick part of scarf up around your head and let the scarf lay on your shoulders.

7. Fold your scarf so that two of the corners match up and tie those together. Bring the scarf around your neck looping it twice. Fluff out so that the corners hang down in front.

8. Fold scarf in half. Put over your shoulders and tie corners together in front.

9. Tie scarf around neck as close to neck as possible. Let the rest hang down.

10. Tie a bow in the scarf near to the ends. Place around your neck!
