End Of Weekend Blues

Bright colors- summer outfit inspiration

The weekends really do go by FAR too quickly these days. Every Sunday night, I sit on the couch with Wes, look at the clock and realize that it is 9:00 on a Sunday night. That’s when the whining starts. “Whyyyyyy? Why is it Sunday night already?!” I really think that all weekends should be 3 days long like next weekend will be. Two days just isn’t long enough to get everything I want to do done. <sigh> Even if they were 3 days long, I’m sure I would find some way to still complain that they weren’t long enough…lol! This one seemed exceptionally short though, probably because we stayed out too late at the neighbors house on Friday night and really screwed up our sleep schedule. I hate waking up late on the weekend, I feel as though I have wasted most of my day. Well, even though I didn’t get as much time as I wanted to this weekend, I still go some pretty cute outfits in:)Coral and Cobalt Outfit Inspiration Cobalt top with statement necklace Bright summer colors Francesca's Coral Skirt with blue blouse Coral skirt with Yellow handbag Coral, Blue, and Yellow Outfit Yellow handbag with gold rivets and bright colored outfit Cobalt top with birds

This outfit is one of my all time favorites. I bought this skirt and top together a year or so ago and have gotten a lot of use out of them! Especially the skirt! I love the comfy material it is made of, and I love the length. Not too short, not too long. Just right:) This necklace has been on repeat lately with tons of my outfits. I love pieces that have a lot of colors in them so that you can wear them with a lot of different outfits, though I don’t want to spend too much money on them since they are usually trendy and not classic. This one was SUPER inexpensive at Sam Moon, I can always justify a statement piece when it’s under $20. Score for Me! How was everyone else’s weekend?

Summer Shoe Essentials: Kushy Foot

*This post was sponsored by Kushy Foot. All opinions are my own and I would never endorse a product that I didn’t already love!*
Lilly for Target Shoes
It’s embarrassing to say, but every summer I get a few really cute pairs of flats (like the ones above), and every fall I have to throw those flats out because they smell like sweaty feet. Yeah, that’s what happens when you don’t wear socks with your flats. They smell. Not only do they smell, but they hurt your feet for the first week you wear them! It’s a never ending cycle that I am always determined to break, but never do….until I found no show socks! Who would have thunk?
Now, I know I have talked about Kushyfoot socks before because I love them, but they have sent me some AWESOME socks this month that are PERFECT for summer. You can wear them with flats, peep toes, and sling backs! Yeah, I know…they have a sock for every kind of summer shoe and it’s great! I got these Lilly for Target espadrilles last month and was so excited to wear them with my new socks. These are the types of shoes that you NEED no show socks with or else you can see them and it looks funny. You can’t even tell that I am wearing socks when I have them on! Not to mention, they have an awesome cushion in them that gives a little extra comfort.
Kushy Foot No Show Socks
Summer is in full swing here in Texas so I have been wearing flats and peep toe wedges for a while now, but all you Northern ladies will have to get on the kushyfoot website and order some socks for all your summer shoes before that hot weather hits!

Fit Friday: How I Lost 13 Pounds in 30 Days

How I lost 13 pounds in 30 days
Before I started the Whole30, I was working out 3-4 days per week. I pretty much ate whatever I wanted, which wasn’t all bad…but it wasn’t all good either. I ate spaghetti squash, but I also ate pizza. I wasn’t consistent. And, although I was working my butt off at bootcamp and the gym 3-5 days per week I was actually gaining weight. I was gaining muscle and all that, but I wasn’t loosing the fat. They really are telling the truth when they say that weight loss is 20% exercise and 80% what you put in to your body.
Now, I know that the Whole30 isn’t supposed to be about loosing any weight, it’s supposed to be about changing your life and your eating habits. Well, for me it’s done both. I have had AMAZING results both physically and mentally. I lost 13 pounds in 30 days. Now, I want to preface by saying that I continued to work out at least 3 times per week…so my results might not be typical if you don’t exercise, but you will STILL see results.
The thing I love the most about the Whole30, it that I have changed the way I think about food. When I go to the grocery store I go around the edges of the store and grab all of the meats and produce first, and then make my way in to the aisles. I read the labels on packaged food. I don’t even have the urge to go get a bag of pasta and some sauce. It has only been a few days since my Whole30 ended, but I can already see that I have much more willpower. I say no to sweets and other bad foods that I wouldn’t normally say no to. I’m not saying that I will keep eating entirely Whole30, but I am definitely going to try and keep up most of my new habits. So far, I have been eating mostly Whole30 for lunch and dinner this entire week anyways!
My hope is that I will continue cooking good, healthy meals for Wes and I, and only have a little bit of a “cheat” on the weekend. This also means I will have to choose wisely where I want my one meal to be from:) Gotta pick something good!
To sum it all up, if you are thinking about doing a Whole30, I would highly recommend it. I never thought that I would make it through an entire 30 days without pasta and chocolate, but I did it and I am better off for it. Let me know if you plan to try it out, I would love to connect and help support each other!:)

I Got Lucky: Lilly Pulitzer Shift Dress

Lilly Pulitzer For Target Shift Dress Pink See Ya Later
Yes, ladies…I got lucky with this one. No, I didn’t get this dress online at 2AM on Sunday April 19th. I also didn’t get it at 8:00 when the stores opened. I just so happened to find a nice lady on Facebook who sold it to me without jacking up the price to $100. Now don’t get me wrong, when I sent over my money via Paypal I sat there for a few minutes just praying that I hadn’t sent all my money to some crazy lady who didn’t really have the dress I wanted. When it came in the mail 2 days later, I took a sigh of relief, had a great big boost in my faith in humanity, and ran upstairs to try it on. Fits like a glove. <Second big sigh of relief!> I managed to snag this dress as well as the flamingo dress from the same woman, on top of the shorts and espadrilles I got online on Sunday night. I would say I came out pretty well in the whole Lilly Pulitzer for Target debacle!

Packing A Hat For Vacation: The Dilemma

Floppy hat nd zebra shoesIt happens every summer. I am packing to go on vacation and I want to bring a hat. Hats are perfect for vacation because they’re cute, they help hide your lake hair, and they keep the sun off of your face. I’m not a hug baseball cap fan. Don’t get me wrong, I have one and I will wear it, but I prefer floppy hats and fedoras. Unfortunately, these are the hardest types of hats to pack. You have to decide whether you want to pack it and risk it being squished beyond recognition, or you want to look like the fool who wears a fashion hat on the plane. <sigh> On the way to Jamaica, I just wore the thing…and it was SO annoying. When you sit on the plane you have to take it off, so now its just floating around the plane, touching the dirty floor, and getting squished anyways! Let’s just say, I rarely travel with hats anymore and it just makes me sad.
Enter the Pack A Hat from Cappelli Straworld! Not only is it rated UPF 50+, but it is foldable down to a teeny tiny little piece! You can throw it into the cute little matching wristlet it comes with, or you can just put it in your purse! I can literally take it anywhere with me, even with a really small cross body purse which I am known to carry:)
Pack-A-Hat with my floral romper
When I was asked to review the Pack A Hat, I knew I had to because I have talked about my hat packing dilemmas on here before! I had to know if it was worth it and I’m pretty sure I have decided it is! You really can’t beat $25 for a hat that you can pack AND a cute little bag that I have been using for make up when I don’t need it for travel. Now, you must realize that they hat will take on it’s own form when you put it on, it’s not going to stick straight out like a straw floppy hat would, but it goes out enough that it still looked cute on:)
The Pack-A-Hat
The hat comes in 5 different colors and each has a matching bag. Head on over to their site to get yours before your summer vacations! If you buy through my link, you will get free shipping!
