12 Days of Christmas Day 12: Gifts In A Mason Jar

12 Days of Christmas Recipes, Crafts, and Style13 Gift in a Jar Ideas
Gifts in a mason jar are the easiest way to give a little something small to show thanks to those in your life. I have seen these ALL over Pinterest this holiday season and there are SO many different ideas out there! This would be the perfect gift for teachers, mailmen, FedEx and UPS drivers, gardeners, etc. My gift in a jar is a hot chocolate gift. I paired the hot chocolate with one of my homemade chocolate mint stir spoons! I also plan to give a little package of homemade marshmallows as well:)
I try to DIY most things I do because I find it fun, and I honestly think that people appreciate homemade gifts much more than they do store bought:) I looked around for some other great mason jar gift ideas and here’s an awesome list from other bloggers around the interwebs!

12 Days of Christmas Day 11: Gift Guide for Bloggers

Blogger Gift Guide

*Sometimes I just have to laugh when I think about the things we bloggers do to keep up in the blogosphere. This post isn’t meant to be offensive to style bloggers, I am one. It’s just lightly poking fun of us, so try and laugh it off:)*<Insert Sarcasm Here>

Being a style blogger means keeping up with your instagram feed every 5 minutes. We need to make sure that we have the newest Starbucks mug, the greatest designer planner, and the most popular accessories AND that there is photo documentation of all of it! So, to help out that style blogger in your life, I’m here today with a gift guide that will give them everything they need for that perfect Instagram feed!

  1. fur vest. All of my favorite Instagrammers have one, I have one, therefore, it is absolutely necessary that all bloggers have one. End of story.
  2. Paper Straws. They really serve no purpose. If you put them in your drink they WILL get soggy. But, how cute are they? Another absolute necessity.
  3. Plaid Blanket Scarf. It all started with Zara…and it has yet to end. As a blogger you should have at least TWO colors of plaid blanket scarves. Duh.
  4. Anything tartan. This is really just a fancy word for plaid. Plaid is everywhere. If you don’t have it…well…you must not be a blogger.
  5. Picmonkey Royale. How else will you get awesome fonts in your “pinnable” pictures? Shell out buco bucks on Photoshop? I don’t think so!
  6. A fancy agenda. You’ll need this not only to schedule your posts a month out, but to use as a filler for all of your instagram photos. An agenda is perfect for a WIDN (What I’m doing now) post….What else would I be doing other than blog planning? Sheesh!
  7. Netflix. What else if going to give us random ideas for tweets at 2AM? If we aren’t up on the current Netflix shows we are going to have nothing to tweet about…ever.
  8. Anything Starbucks. A gift card so that she can buy all the drinks and use them in her OOTD (Outfit of the day) selfie. A cute Starbucks mug or traveller to use with her fancy agenda in her WIDN post. You could really just take her to Starbucks so that she can tweet about her Starbucks date:)
And there you have it, everything a blogger could ever need! Now get a hurry on it, there’s only a few days left ’til Christmas!

12 Days of Christmas Day 10: Giant Snowflakes

12 Days of Christmas Recipes, Crafts, and Style

Today’s craft is a giant paper snowflake. They are super easy to make which means that it’s GREAT for the kiddos! I used my giant snowflake in this display at our Christmas party a few weeks ago. How awesome does that look?

Make your own Giant snowflake on All That Glitters Blog

Step One. Take a piece of card stock and make a square out of it by folding like you see in the first photo below. Cut the strip on the bottom off. You should now have a square.

Step Two. Fold the square back in to the triangle from before and then again into a smaller triangle.

Step Three. Cut 3 lines in the triangle like you see in the third photo. Try to get the cut pretty close to the end without cutting through the whole piece of paper.

Step Four. Open your paper back up and spread it out flat. Curl the two center pieces together and tape as you see below.

Step Five. Take the next two pieces and curl them the opposite direction, then tape. Continue out until the layers are all curled out, rotating between sides.

Step Six. Repeat steps 1-5 five more times.

Step Seven. Staple your snowflake arms together in the center and at the bottom like you see below. Ta da! There you have it, a giant paper snowflake!

12 Days of Christmas Day 9: Cupcake Liner Christmas Tree Cards

Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees

I love, love, LOVE today’s craft! They turned out so well and I am SO excited to give them to my family next week on Christmas. I made a cupcake liner Christmas tree with a foam cone last year, here, and I thought it would be cute to make a smaller version this year. These are so easy and I have shown two different types today with the instructions below! Enjoy!
Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees

First things first, start with as many different patterns of cupcake liners as you want. To make the smaller of the two trees, begin by folding your liners in half and then in half again. You will have that little pie slice you see below on the right!

As you move further up the tree, you fold a little bit extra underneath so that the pieces become just a little bit smaller each time. I used a glue stick to attach everything together. Then I glued the tree on to a piece of white card stock. For the star I used a piece of confetti that looks like the north star, and the trunk is just colored pencil. This should get you the below result!

For the larger of the Christmas trees, I folded all of the liners in half. As I went up the tree, I cut a small piece off of the end. Cut the piece a bit bigger each time so that the pieces become smaller. For the top of the tree fold your liner in half once more like you did in the first tree to create quarters. Finally, glue a star on the top and draw on your tree trunk!Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees
