Hi Lovelies!

If any of you know me well, you will know that I sometimes switch my outfit during the day…especially on the weekend. I get really excited about new clothes and new ways to style pieces and sometimes I just CAN NOT wait to wear them. So, I wear two outfits in one day….so sue me:) I am really trying to avoid doing this too often, because then I just dirty twice as many clothes, and in turn have to wash twice the amount of clothes. That’s just annoying and really a waste of water. We’re in a drought here people! So, today I am going to show you a cute way to style my outfit for a day out shopping with the girls, and later on next week i’ll show you how to change up the accessories in the outfit to make it perfect for a night on the town.

For my day time look I went with some cute nude wedges with a matching clutch and a dainty necklace. I don’t like to wear a ton of jewelry when I go out shopping because you have to take it all off in order to try anything new on. The wedges are a little more casual, which make them perfect for a daytime outfit! Stay tuned next week when I change out those accessories for something a little more suitable for nighttime.

Spiked

Hi Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial day weekend! Mine was fantastic! Thursday night we went out in downtown Austin for my cousin, Nicolle’s, birthday. We had dinner at Moonshine, and then went to a few bars, which we closed down. I haven’t been out that late in so long, but we were having so much fun sitting on the patio with our drinks, just talking:) Friday was spent at Home Depot and Joann’s getting supplies to create the perfect backyard oasis. It’s official, we have the best backyard ever now! (More details later) Saturday we had a BBQ in our new backyard with some friends, including TONS of really good food. Recipes to come, promise! We also saw the new X-Men movie at the Alamo Drafthouse, which was really good…highly recommend. On Sunday, Nicolle and I got pedicures and lunch, then Wes and I spent the rest of the day relaxing. Overall, it was one of the best weekends I have had in a long time!

This dress is one of my favorites. Not only is it one of my favorite colors, it is comfortable and really easy to accessorize. I also think that the spiked turquoise necklace makes a nice statement with the plain front, and of course you can’t have a spiked necklace without a matching bracelet:) Besides the comfort and the color, the entire reason for the purchase of this dress was really the back…there are some really cool designs out there this season with great backs and I love anything that stand out and isn’t plain old fabric!:)

This weekend made me REALLy excited for our trip to Michigan this summer. I cannot wait for a whole week of lakes, drinks, good food, family, and friends. It really can’t come quickly enough!

Sundress Weather

This outfit just makes me happy. It’s bright, it’s summery, and these earrings are awesome! I just love it. Now I can’t wait until I have  tan to go with my sundresses. It’s been super nice here so it’s on its way, but you know how it is…a slow process. This weekend doesn’t look too promising for my tan plan with all the cloudiness. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to wait for the next one.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure I am a walking advertisement for Charming Charlie sometimes. Guess that’s what happens when you work around the stuff all the time. You really can’t beat the prices though, this dress was like $25! You all know I can’t resist a good deal, but I am going to have to start resisting more often since we are saving to buy our own house. Yup, that’s right, a house! I am so excited that it’s finally going to happen, we just need to find the right one. Wish us luck!

Here’s to hoping that today is a better day than yesterday in terms of EVERYTHING. It was just one of those days yesterday. I was so unproductive…I am going to blame the weather. When it’s gloomy and cold outside Megan doesn’t do very well with motivation. Everything was just off yesterday: the weather was awful, my ankle hurt, I didn’t feel very good, it was just a blah day. Heres to a better day today! Woohoo!

I really wasn’t excited about this skirt when I tried it on because of the whole ‘horizontal stripes make you look fat’ thing, but I am really glad I didn’t listen to my instincts this time! I love this skirt! It’s really comfortable for a pencil skirt and it goes with pretty much anything. If you remember a while ago I styled it here with a polka dot shirt and some yellow accessories and it looked fab then too!  I would totally wear this look with some black tights and a cardigan for work, or as is to go out with the girls on Friday night:) Versatile outfits are my best friend:)

Springtime Is Here, In Aztec

Hi Lovelies!

Oh my goodness is it beautiful here in the state of Texas. This….this is the reason I moved to this wonderful state:) You can’t beat 75 and sunny on a Sunday in February. So, to celebrate my lovely state, I’m going a little bit southern with my oufit today. This dress is so comfortable and is one of my favorites, but I always seem to wear it with a black cardigan and some sandals. I have been wanting to find a way to wear it that isn’t quite so plain jane, and I think I finally did.
