Nautical Is The New Black

You’ll have to excuse the blurryish pictures today. I’m not really sure what was up with my camera this past weekend when I took these. <sigh> This outfit makes me happy. Nautical themed is one of my favorite ways to dress and when I saw this dress at Target I knew I was going to need it. It’s cute, it’s comfortable, and it was only $25. Score for Megan! This past weekend was beautiful here, as you can tell from the photos. So far this week, not so beautiful. It rained all day long yesterday and has been chilly. I want my spring weather to come back so that I can continue to wear pretty spring dresses like this one! Get The Look:

I have been doing so well with my steps on my Jawbone! I still absolutely love it! I took over 16,000 steps yesterday and over 11,000 the day before! Woot woot! I’m kicking everyone at work’s behinds which is always fun since I’m the girl. I’ve also been keeping track of my food on My Fitness Pal which has really been an eye opener for how many calories I am actually consuming. Sugar too…I have a sugar addiction and it’s a problem. I really think this is the beginning of a new lifestyle for me which is awesome. I have always worked out, but now I have a little bit more motivation to do so and these apps are super great for keeping yourself in check! Summer Colors & Body Talk

Happy hump day! I hope everyone in Texas is enjoying the GORGEOUS weather we’ve been having all week. It was almost 80 degrees yesterday! It’s supposed to cool down a little bit by the weekend, but I still can’t complain about 60s when everywhere else is swamped with snow and frigid cold!

All this warm weather has really gotten me thinking about our annual trip to Michigan this summer…hence the red, white, and blue outfit! This combo is one of my favorites! You may recognize the sweater from a month or so back, I wore it here in grey. Well, I loved it so much that I had my Momma get me one for Christmas in navy:) It’s super soft and I will still never get over the fact that I found it at Costco!

I have to say, it’s been harder for me to post photos of myself lately. I have felt a little yucky about my body lately and I know exactly why. I stopped going to my bootcamp back before Christmas because it got to cold for me at 5:00AM (I’m a wimp). Ever since then I have been a little “softer” than I would like to be. I have run a bit and will be going to a gym once it opens next month, but I really need to get back on track. If you follow often, I posted about my fitness goals here a few weeks ago, and I have been pretty good at the eating healthier portion of it all…just not the working out part. I am getting together a fitness routine for myself that I’ll be sure to post on Fitness Friday next month for you all to see. I really want to get myself into good shape before the summer comes so that I can look great in that flamingo bikini I bought last year:) Who’s with me?

Seersucker And Red Lips

Holiday weekends are my favorite! I love that feeling on Sunday when you remember that you have an entire extra day to do what you want. I started a huge project this weekend that I am SUPER pumped about. I am building my very own dream closet, and I spent all weekend planning and beginning it all. I have been Pinteresting amazing closets for a while and put together everything I loved from each of them to make the perfect closet for me. Today’s outfit is casual and versatile, two of the best qualities of an outfit in my opinion. I wore this for our family pictures up in Michigan back in July, but I also wore it for a little stroll in the greenbelt followed by a trip to Central Market. These shorts are super comfy, but I wish I would have gotten one size down because they do stretch out a lot. PS: Can we talk about how a red lip makes any outfit look fabulous? This outfit would be so-so without those lips, but that pop of color ties in with the red accessories and dresses up the casual a little bit.

The only complaint I have about the skirt is about the fabric. It is beautiful and looks wonderful, but it is one of those skirts where when you sit down it immediately wrinkles. I don’t know if there is any way to stop this (if there is PLEASE tell me how!), but I definitely noticed it after sitting down at the office all day long.
