My New Favorite Fall Dress

Ok, I realize that I come to you guys like once per week saying that I have found my new favorite outfit, but this time….I mean it! I have finally found it: my favorite fall outfit for this year! This dress from Target had me from the first glance. I saw it, I tried it on, I loved it. And weirdly enough, I didn’t buy it the first time I saw it, but you can bet your ass I thought about that dress for days. So, obviously I went back in when I was supposed to be getting food for dinner and bought her:) Do you ever see an item, fall in love and then think about it for days after? No? I’m the only one? Haha! You can do SO much with this dress and you can guarantee that I will be styling it more than a few more times this winter. With a fur vest, with colored tights, with tall boots, with pants as a tunic….don’t even get me started on the endless possibilities. I think this might call for a “One dress: 6,000,000 Ways” post….<evil laugh>

Don’t think I’m going to forget to talk to you about those booties! I bought them back when I worked for Delia’s from the Alloy magazine and only wear them on occasion, but after seeing them with this dress I feel like I need to bring them into my outfits more often. They really aren’t very high heels, which is great for me since I am the biggest klutz ever, and who can resist those big brown bows? Oh, and did I forget to mention my hair? I’m pretty sure this is the first time my hair has been down in a post since I got it cut! For those of you thinking, “her hair is so long!”, you must be new here! Haha! I am going to send you on over to this post, this post, and this post, so you can check out what real long hair actually is:) She chopped off at least 6 inches and I really like the length. I think it looks MUCH healthier, butI know it will be back to it’s ultra long state in like a month anyways because my hair grows like a weed. It’s nice to have a little something different even if it is just the length:)

Happy Birthday With A Great Big Bow

It’s my birthday! I am starting to feel old now. 25 wasn’t so bad, 26 got a little worse, but the number 27 just SEEMS so much older. <sigh> Where does the time go? This dress seemed fitting to post on my birthday, since it is the epitome of me. Pink with bows, how much more fun and girly can you get? You will have to forgive me while my tan lines take over the upper portion of my body, I blame the tank top I wore while paddle boarding this past weekend. Speaking of paddle boarding, Nicolle’s boyfriend is in town this week so we went again last night. You seriously need to go if you have never been. So much fun! I’m pretty sure I am going to die this morning at bootcamp from all of the paddling, but I’ll just have super sexy arms by the end of the summer, eh?

Today is actually the day I decided to get serious with my blog last year. I am SLOWLY….very slowly, but surely learning how to take pictures that aren’t in automatic. Aren’t you proud? Don’t they look fabulous? Yeah, personally I don’t think that they look all that different…but maybe that just means I am an expert automatic photographer:) Haha! I Am A Bargain Hunter

I am a bargain hunter. It’s true. No, I’m not cheap and no, I’m not that annoying person who tries to get a deal on a loose thread in every store, but I am DEFINITELY a bargain hunter. In college some may have even called me the bargain queen. I would come home from the mall with shirts that cost me $4, panties that were $1 each, and a pair of $3 sandals. My friends would be in awe. “How do you find such cute things on sale? I never do.” Well, first of all my friends, let me say that it is pure luck. Luck that they have my size, luck that it isn’t torn, and luck that it is something I would actually wear. There is no real trick to it, except that you have to shop often:) Now, for me, this is not a problem…I LOVE to shop, but for some shopping is torture. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are most likely not going to find a whole outfit for $20 unless you shop often.

That being said, today I’m showing off my new bargain from Forever 21. Yes, I realize that most everything in Forever 21 is a bargain, but this is a REAL bargain! I had a Visa giftcard that I won at work and it has been burning a hole in my pocket since the beginning of June when I got it. Obviously, I wanted to get the most bang for my buck, so I headed on over to Forever 21 after work. After looking for about 10 minutes I found it, this skirt (see below). This skirt was only $9.99! I was able to get 2 skirts and a dress with my $50 giftcard and I left feeling happy as can be:) So, without further ado, today’s outfit:

Oh, and by the way those sandals…$4 at Target! But moving on…for all of you saying that’s great Megan, but I can’t wear a tank top to work, cardigans are your best friend. I have a cardigan in about 5 different colors and they are a super easy way to turn a look like this into something appropriate for work (depending on your dress code). My favorite places for cardigans are definitely Nordstrom (on sale for $19.90) and Target (on sale for $15).

Chelsea came over in the middle of our shoot, ready to bake some cupcakes! Woohoo! I had to get a picture with her as well, because her dress and braid were just TOO cute!
