With A Flower In Her Hair…

Hi Lovelies!

I have seen headbands worn across the forehead like this everywhere over the past year or so, and I always think that the girl wearing them looks SO cute. I always say that I am going to try it someday, and then I never do it. Probably because I am convinced that I will look dumb and people will think I’m insane. Well, today I’m going to share my first attempt with you! I picked this headband up at Charming Charlie last spring when all of their sale items were 5 for $5….it has taken me almost a year to build up the courage to ACTUALLY wear it. So here goes nothing…

I’m not sure that I would wear one every day, but I think the headband is fun. It gives the entire outfit a whole different feel….and I just felt like a pretty girl with flowers in her hair:) What kind of trends have you wanted to, but been afraid to try?

Black & White Bows

Hi Lovelies!

I don’t know if you have all met Hayley from A Beautiful Exchange  or Lauren from The Albrecht’s Blog, but they are starting an awesome new link up in order to get to know other bloggers! I am so excited that this is the first week! Today’s prompt for the link up is to share a photo of yourself and list 3 things that you love about yourself! Click here to see the link up and enjoy! The outfit pictures below will have to suffice for the photo of me:) Anyways, here goes nothing…3 things that I love about myself:

1. For lack of a better word, my guts– I have decided to do this crazy thing called blogging. I think that takes some major guts. I am putting myself out there for the entire world to see and judge and I’m okay with that. At the beginning I was really self-conscious and didn’t want people that I know to see my blog….then finally I just embraced it and let go of all those negative feelings. If people are going to judge me negatively for my blog then I don’t need them anyways:) And 90% of the people who see it don’t know me in real life anyways, so who cares if they judge.

2. My ability to love– I’ve got a whole lot of love to give. If you are special to me, you can guarantee that I will love you with everything I have. A lot of people don’t really even have the ability to love, at least not as strongly as others. Sometimes this trait ends up hurting me, but in the end getting love from people in return is worth the pain others give.

3. This one is going to be the superficial one…lol…my hair– I’m pretty sure I am the only woman on the planet who doesn’t hate her hair. I like the color, the texture, that it will pretty much do anything I want…and I love that it grows like a weed:)

Well, that’s all folks…3 things I love about myself! Now, on to the outfit of the day…

To Infinity And Beyond

Hi Lovelies!

This little gold infinity necklace is my favorite. If I’m not wearing a statement necklace, I’m wearing this little baby. I got it at Charming Charlie for $6 last winter and I have pretty much worn it out since…it’s starting to change colors. I guess that’s what happens to a $6 necklace when you wear it every day…haha! I have definitely gotten my $6 worth though, so I guess I can’t complain. Maybe I’ll just have to ask for a real one from the hubby for Christmas:) <wink wink>

This sweater from Target is super soft. It kept me really warm the other day when the temperatures got lower than usual. I love versatile items that I can do a lot with, I could dress this up with some denim and high heel booties or even belted around a cute dress with some tights. You really just can’t go wrong when it comes to a patterned sweater…..especially in black and white.

Until tomorrow…

Rules? They’re More Like Guidelines Anyways

Hi Lovelies!

The end of summer is drawing near, so I decided it is time to get my white pant posts in while I can! Although, I have to say, I’m not a strong believer of the no white pants past labor day rule. Especially in Texas, it’s more like a fashion guideline….for those people in the north who actually have fall and winter. Haha!

Pardon the frizzy, awkward mess that it my hair in these photos, it was extremely humid and actually looked like it was going to rain! (It didn’t.) That’s why my hair is actually blowing in some of the photos! What a nice change from the stagnant, hot weather we usually have in August.

I found this peplum top at Target (yes, I realize I have a problem) just before the Texas Style Council at the beginning of August. I wore it to the Lulu’s clothing swap and got a ton of compliments! I like how it is shorter in the front and longer in the back (mullet top!) And we all know how I feel about teal and coral…..

Well, there you go! Now, I need to think of some cute fall ways to style my white skinnies once labor day rolls past!

How would you bring white pants in to fall?
