Fall Colors And A Fitness Issue

Hi Lovelies!

The colors are here. Well, sort of…they are starting to show at least! There is a red tree down the street from me and lots of yellow ones popping up all over! Eek! Who doesn’t love a little bit of fall color? :)

I really do love fall, especially here in Texas where you can have 65 degree days AND 85 degree days:) But, is anyone else having issues trying to work out with this whole time change thing? For some reason it has been SO much harder for me to get the motivation to work out when it’s dark outside so early. I ran 2.5 miles around my neighborhood last night, but I literally had to FORCE myself to do it. Argh! I’ve been doing so well and I cannot let it all go because darkness makes me unmotivated…lol! I’m also thinking about running a half marathon. My best friend and I have been talking about it for a month or so now, and I think it’s about time to take the plunge and just sign up for it. If I sign up for it I can’t back out, right? Right! Now, it’s time for that motivation to come back…..

How do you keep motivated to work out?

Until tomorrow…

I Hate Daylight Savings Time

Hi Lovelies!

I hate daylight savings time. I really do. If it didn’t exist, then we would never have to go off of daylight savings time…..Let’s just say I got off of work at 5:00 yesterday and had to RUSH to take these photos because it was already so dark. I got home at 5:45 or so and it felt like 7:00:( I really don’t like short days, they make me feel lazy and constantly tired. Boo on winter. Alright, that’s enough complaining….on to the outfit of the day! I can’t tell you enough how much I love skirts and dresses…they are so versatile. This is one of my favorites to wear with a red t shirt and sandals during the summer and look how easily I transitioned it into fall!

New York City In Stripes: Day 2 & 3

Hi Lovelies!

Happy hump day! I cannot believe how fast time seems to be going. This past week has gone by so fast it’s unbelievable! Well, I hope you are all ready for my recap on the last 2 days of my trip to NYC! There are a few more outfit pictures on this post then there were yesterday, mostly because this outfit was so comfortable, yet I just felt cute in it:)

Anyways…Friday was really a day for just taking in the city and people watching. We visited the Statue of Liberty and walked by the Stock Exchange, unfortunately Ellis Island is still closed due to the hurricane. Now, if you haven’t been to the Statue of Liberty, it is definitely a must do! The boat ride out alone is worth it! You can see the entire city and all the surrounding Burroughs  perfectly and get some really great shots…plus who doesn’t like a good boat ride? You can go all the way up to the top of the statue, but my family and I have already done so. We were perfectly content just walking around, getting some great photos, and then having a snack at the little café they have. That night we saw The Newsies on Broadway, which totally took me back to my high school choir days when we would watch the movie version. After the show, I met up with a few of my friends from high school/college and had some drinks…it was really great to catch up:)

On Saturday my dad wanted to watch football, so Mom and I went shopping. We shopped down 34th street and 5th Avenue and found some really great stuff! I’m sure you will see some of my finds on here once I am not feeling so sick:( We met up with my dad in the afternoon and made a trip to Central Park and Bryant Park (where the cute puppies below are from). The bridge in Central Park is my favorite picture from these 2 days….It was such a beautiful setting.

One Outfit, Two Seasons

Hi Lovelies!

We are finally past hump day and one day closer to a 3 day weekend! Woohoo! This is going to be an exceptionally grand labor day weekend for me, as this year will be the first in 3 years that I have actually had it off of work! Oh, the joys of working in retail management…thank goodness for 8-5 jobs!

Now, on to today’s outfit! I bought this shirt back in the retail working days, when I bought everything just because I had a discount. I brought it home, I wore it once, and then it sat in green section of my closet for the next 6 months. Luckily, I was searching through my closet this past weekend, after buying the fabulous pink necklace you see below, and I decided that they would go so well together with some white skinny jeans and sandals! The bright pink color and white skinny jeans really helped to bring the deep teal into summer.

The second outfit came from my dilemma I spoke of earlier in the week: wearing white pants after labor day. I don’t have a problem with it, and in order to make EVERYONE else see that the rule is indeed stupid, I decided to show y’all just how to dress white denim for fall. So here you have it, summer fading in to fall:
