Marika Work Out LeggingsI have been going to bootcamp for a little over 3 months now, and I absolutely love it. My trainer pushes me to work hard, my classmates give me the motivation to show up, and I love that my work out is done by 6:30AM and I don’t have to think about it again after. Well, except for the next day when I’m sore in muscles I didn’t even know existed…lol! Yes, there are mornings that I have to literally drag myself out of bed at 5AM, and there are even mornings where I don’t make it (I blame Netflix), but overall morning exercise is what works for me. I would highly recommend signing up for a morning bootcamp if you are one of those people who doesn’t have that natural motivation to get up and go to the gym after work.

It’s hot here in Texas, even at 5:30 in the morning, so I normally wear shorts and a baggy tank top at bootcamp, but it’s September already so I know it’s going to start getting chillier soon. Once that chilly weather sets in, I like to wear capris or work out leggings when I run or work out outside. 5:30 AM bootcamp: It’s a love-hate relationship really. I love bootcamp. I really like my trainer, and the people in my class are pretty great too. It’s the 4:45 wake up call I hate. I have never been one to just jump out of bed in the early hours of the morning and hop to it, but the past 2 months I have had to. I have gotten SO much better, trust me, but it’s going to take some time before I can actually say I enjoy the morning…if I ever do lol! June, I rocked it. I was there every morning, never skipped one. Then I went on vacation at the end of June and coming back in July was rough. Don’t get me wrong, I have been there pretty much every morning, but after 11 days of vacay I was struggling to tear myself off of the bed.

What do you do when you hit this wall? This wall that you SO badly want to crash through and get around. I for one have been trying to fuel my body a little bit better than I used to. I never thought I would be that girl who drinks protein drinks to supplement her diet after a work out…but I have BECOME that girl. BUT, it’s not as terrible as I thought it might be. I think drinking it by itself every day is a little bit much for me, but I have actually tried putting it into my smoothie, which was fantastic! Hi Lovelies!

Can I just start by saying how crazy out of shape you can get in just one month?! On my first day of bootcamp I couldn’t believe how badly I already felt after not doing much of anything for just one month! Well, let’s just say I won’t be doing that again anytime soon.

The last two weeks have been awesome though! I never thought I would be that girl who wakes up at 4:45 to go work out, but I am actually loving it! I go to boot camp, take a shower, get ready, eat breakfast, and get some things done around the house…all before work at 8AM. It’s fantastic! I am the type of person who needs A LOT of motivation to get out of bed. If it was just me wandering into Gold’s Gym by myself to jog on the treadmill I would make it one day…if even that. Knowing that I have that trainer and my class waiting for me really helps to get me up out of bed in a hurry. It also helps that I have already lost 4.5 pounds…Lol:)

Now that I’m back in my work out state of mind (and feeling great I might add!) I have been eyeing some new work out gear! Here in Austin, even at 5:30AM, it is pretty warm outside and it just gets warmer as the hour goes on. It’s really nice to have a few layers to strip off as I go, so this outfit would be perfect for me. The best part? Adidas is having a summer sale and thousands of their items are up to 40% off! Hi Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We sure did. Nicolle, Wes, and I rented paddle boards from The Rowing Dock and went out on Town Lake Saturday morning. It was such a blast! Wes and I have been a lot over the past few years, but Nicolle had never been. The weather was spectacular. There was just enough cloud cover that we were never in the sun for too long of a time. There was also a nice breeze, which was amazing in terms of temperature. It was not so amazing, however, for paddling back to the dock. We were going against the wind the entire way back and it was rough to say the least. If you have never been paddle boarding, I highly recommend it. It’s a great core and arm work out!

Finding My Motivation

I got this skirt on sale on Target.com and was SO excited that they had my size. Now, 2 months later, this is the first time I have worn it. I do this all the time! I get so excited for something and then when it comes in I ignore it for 2 months. Now, after wearing it, I don’t know why I waited so long! It’s so cute and the colors are so bright and fun!

Time is flying by way too quickly these days! I feel like it was yesterday that I was in Galveston running my half marathon, but it was more than a month ago! That being said, that month has been really bad for me in terms of working out and eating right. Every time I see someone running through my neighborhood I get all antsy to go for a run, and I am determined that this is the week I will get back on the horse and stay there! I haven’t been terrible, but I have definitely NOT been good! It’s starting to get pretty hot here in Austin, so I m going to have to start going on my runs before work when it is still cooler outside.

How do y’all find the motivation to wake up in the early morning and take a run (or go to the gym)?!
