12 Days of Christmas Day 6: Winter Centerpiece

12 Days of Christmas Recipes, Crafts, and StyleDIY Winter centerpiece- change out the blue for red and green and it is perfect for Christmas

These centerpieces are so easy to make and can be used for much more than just your party tables! After the office party last week, ours were put on the entry table to the office and they look super fun and festive! These can be made in any color you want for any occasion, which makes them even better! This particular one could be used for a winter festival, a Frozen party, or even a Hanukkah party, but you could switch out the ornaments for red and green ones and it would be a perfect Christmas party decoration!

I found the felt snowflake that went under the glass vase at the Dollar Tree (Yup, that’s right, $1). The other little sparkly balls and ornaments were all found at Hobby Lobby. The powder snow was probably the most expensive part, surprisingly, but you can find lots of different types on Amazon! I have to say, I am really proud of this one. My boss even told me that I had missed my calling in event planning after she saw them:) <This is me smiling really big!>

12 Days of Christmas Day 5: Chocolate Stir Spoons

12 Days of Christmas Recipes, Crafts, and StyleChocolate Mint Spoons for stirring your hot cocoa

Talk about an easy “recipe”….these spoons can be made in just a few minutes! I used mine for our hot chocolate bar at the holiday party this past weekend, but you could also use them at home or give them as gifts to people like teachers and coworkers! I thought this entire thing was going to be impossible since I don’t have a double boiler to melt the chocolate, but it turns out you don’t even need a double boiler to melt chocolate correctly! As shown in the picture below, I took a saucepan and filled it with water and started it boiling. Then I filled a smaller saucepan and filled it with my chocolate chips. I held the small saucepan over the water and made sure to stir pretty consistently. Once the chocolate is all melted I spooned it on to my plastic spoons and sprinkled with crushed mints. Voila! Chocolate dipped spoons! They are perfect for stirring hot cocoa, but would even give a great chocolate mint flavor to a cup of coffee!

12 Days of Christmas Day 4: Winter Wonderland Banner

12 Days of Christmas Recipes, Crafts, and StyleWalking In A Winter Wonderland Sign

Today’s post is a fun winter/Christmas themed banner! This one was used for a Winter Wonderland themed party, but you could always write Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays on the banner instead and use green and red colored ornaments and ribbons:) I used poster paint on a basic brown wrapping paper for the banner and then used crepe paper and different types of sparkly ribbon to hang ornaments from at the bottom. I taped each one individually to the back so that it didn’t put to much stress on the paper. I am super excited about how it turned out:) I used Command poster strips to hang it up so that it wouldn’t ruin the walls and they were awesome, highly recommend!
