A Wishlist….Or Three…

Hi Lovelies!

The holidays are approaching and I have been bombarded with requests for a “Christmas list”. I never have any idea what to tell people when they ask me this. I don’t really NEED anything….I just WANT everything:) Hehe! So today, I have put together a few lists. A reasonable wish list, an unreasonable wishlist, and a practical wishlist:)

1. The Reasonable Wishlist

I call this the reasonable wishlist because it’s really just an outfit from Target. Target is pretty reasonably priced, so therefore, you get the “reasonable” wishlist! Target is a HUGE problem for me. There are 2 within a mile of my work and it is bad news bears when I have nothing to do on my lunch break. This wishlist will most likely change weekly from now until Christmas, but for right NOW this is what I wish I could buy/get from Target!

2. The Unreasonable Wishlist

Unreasonable because it is expensive. Well, maybe not expensive, but expensive for what the items really are. So, I am not one for designer labels…I pretty much own a Coach crossbody and wallet that I got in high school and that is the extent of my designer collection. BUT, recently I discovered Kate Spade’s gold dot agenda…and by discovered I mean I bought it. This has opened a can of worms for me…..I haven’t bought anything else…yet….but I have started a Kate Spade wishlist that includes anything with gold dots on it. LOL! The only thing I think I would consider actually buying are the shoes….though I cannot justify to myself spending $75 on Keds. Meh.

3. The Practical Wishlist

Now, some people may not call this one practical….but it is much more practical than the previous two! The hubby and I just invested in a brand new king sized bed and we need some pretty decorative items to go with it. AKA we need to redecorate the entire room! Same sort of color scheme, but prettier. I am in LOVE with that polka dot flannel blanket set…..

What is on your holiday “wishlist” this year?

Until tomorrow…

This Is What I Like About Texas

Hi Lovelies!

When Wes and I picked up and moved to Texas two years ago we had a lot of people ask, “Why Texas?”. Well, besides the fact that I lived in Texas during middle and high school and LOVED it. And, besides the fact that Texans have the most pride for their state than anywhere else I have ever been, which is amazing. THIS is ‘why Texas’. Sunday, November 17….85 degrees and sunny. I just don’t understand how you could NOT love that. It was chilly all last week and the leaves are starting to change, it’s beginning to feel like fall…and then it’s 85 degrees. You would NEVER get an 85 degree day in Michigan in November. Ever. This entire weekend was beautiful as a matter of fact. I have to tell you…Michigan has beautiful lakes, but I wouldn’t want to live anywhere but Austin:)

Thanksgiving Is Coming!

Hi Lovelies!

Can you believe that it is already mid-November?! I just don’t know where the time has gone. Before you know it, it will be Thanksgiving and then in a flash it will be Christmas! Ahhh! Let me just say…I have a LOT of work to get done before any of that is allowed to happen! My in-laws will be in Austin for Christmas, which means that I have to clear out and decorate the entire spare bedroom in the next month and a half. Now, this may not seem like that much work…but if you saw how much stuff was in that room you would be thinking differently. Oy vey! With that being said, I’m going to be very busy for a month or so, and I will need to (as I always do lol) start planning my outfit ahead for Thanksgiving. I love these two options…one for a casual dinner with family and one for the fancy folks who like to dress up:) Who doesn’t like to dress up every once in a while? :)

Thanksgiving

Which is your favorite? I really love them both:)

Until tomorrow…

My Undying Love For Leopard Print

Hi Lovelies!

I have loved leopard print for as long as I can remember. Even before it was popular. Yeah, that’s right….I loved leopard even when it was uncool to love leopard. Remember this post? Yeah, that is where the burgundy and leopard mixture obsession started…..and well, it hasn’t ended. I L-O-V-E this combination! In fact, I really just love everything about this outfit! These burgundy jeans from H&M are so comfortable, this is my favorite sweater, I obviously just stated how I feel about leopard, and I love the touch of pale pink under the sweater! (Can you tell I’ve been in a pink mood this week? hehe:))

I had originally planned on getting a burgundy skirt to go with all of my leopard print, but I haven’t been able to find one that I like. Well, other than this beauty here….but I can’t justify to myself spending $88 on one skirt…unless its black.

Anyone else see a cute burgundy skirt I can snatch up?

Until tomorrow…

New York City In Burgundy and Polka Dots: Day 1

Hi Lovelies!

It’s time to tell you all about the trip to NYC! First, let me just say that if you have never been to New York City, you need to go. I have been 3 times and lived there for 4 months…and I would go back again in a heart beat. So here it goes, day 1 of my trip to NYC…

On Wednesday I took a half day from work and Wes drove me to the airport. The trip from Austin to Dallas was great, it was the trip from Dallas to New York that was an absolute nightmare. I met my mom and dad on the plane since my connection was so short, and we were just about to take off……..and then we stopped moving. 3.5 hours, 2 free granola bars, 6 glasses of water, and a trip to the cockpit later, and we were finally on our way. We arrived at our hotel on Manhattan at 3am and passed out immediately.

The next morning we woke up and made a quick trip to visit the house I used to live in. It was such a great experience and going to see it really brought back all of the great memories. I’m so glad we stopped by:) After we left “305”, we walked down to Canal Street/Chinatown and did a little bit of shopping/wandering around. Little Italy was right next to Chinatown, so we had lunch at this cute little place called Caffe Napoli.

After lunch, we decided to go see that 9/11 memorial. On the way we stopped by this really pretty church that had a graveyard with tombstones dating back to the 1700’s. It was right next to ground zero and during the attacks many people took refuge in the church. It may seem really weird, but I was fascinated by all of the old tombstones, they almost didn’t look real. The 9/11 memorial was absolutely beautiful, there are two giant fountains in the spots where the two towers stood surrounded by hundreds of trees and a beautiful park.

We ended the day seeing Motown on Broadway. It was SO good! I especially enjoyed the Jackson 5 parts, Michael Jackson is one of my all time favorites. Now, as I told you a couple of weeks ago in my New York Wish List post, I wanted to take some awesome pictures while I was in New York. I don’t know how fabulous they are, but I think I got some good shots. Here are some of my photos from the day, no captions necessary:)
