Stripes And Rainboots

Hi Lovelies!

Is it just me, or does it just so happen to rain every time you NEED to do something outside?! Saturday was 80 and wonderful and of course I didn’t take any outfit pictures then…I waited until Sunday. Well, when I woke up on Sunday morning it was rainy and 40 degrees and it just got colder and rainier from there! So, I just went with the flow, got out my rain boots and umbrella, and froze my butt off:) I actually was under the impression that it was rainy and 55 or so when I put this outfit on. I was seriously mistaken.

To be 110% honest, that last picture is only in there because it looks like I’m about to kill someone with my umbrella and it makes me laugh:) Lol! I love this outfit though! I wore it back in July for a double date night with the husband and I have been wanting to style it a little more casually ever since. Rain boots definitely fit the casual bill, and they went perfectly with the pink and white theme.

I figured the ‘I love you so much’ sign from Jo’s Coffee on South Congress was fitting since it is Valentine’s week:) Well, Wes and I felt like tourists in our own city this past weekend. We rented bikes from the new city ‘b cycle’ program they just launched and rode all across the city. We had lunch at the Whole Foods head quarters, rode around South Congress and got some coffee, and then ended at the Auditorium Shores park watching people play with their dogs and taking in the sunshine and fresh air. <sigh> I wish that nice weather has stayed with us!

I have had a major color crush on mint and red lately. I realllllly want this bow I found on Etsy, and I am pretty sure that is where the obsession has come from. The nautical feel to this outfit made me long for summer even more so than I have been…..please, Mother nature?! I am so ready for 70 degree weather to be a daily occurrence:)

Lace and Cowboy Boots + Allergy Craziness

I am so excited by how nice it has been here in Texas the past couple of days! It was 80 degrees yesterday, and you can bet I was running around with no coat on soaking up that sunshine! It was such a nice day I just had to take some pictures:) It’s going to be a little colder than 80 the rest of the week, but I will take my 60s and 70s over that polar vortex any day! Lol!

So, yesterday was the big allergy test. Oh my goodness was it awful! First they bring out 6 panels that have 10 prickers on them. Each pricker has an allergen on it and they rub them into your inner arms so that it “scratches” your arm. Then they make you sit for 20 minutes while your arms feel as though they are on fire and itch like CRAZY! After you wait for what seems like 5 years for them to come back, they measure how big all of the welts are. This is where they decide which ones you reacted to and get shots ready for each one. So here’s the great part: They test you for 60 allergens…..<drumroll> I tested positive for 57 of them. Which meant I had to get a shot 57 TIMES! Yes, you heard me correctly, I had 57 shots yesterday. I now have bruised track marks to show off to all of my lovely coworkers and gym mates. Worst experience ever. Well, I guess now I know I am allergic to everything. No really…cockroaches, mice, cats, dogs…every tree, weed, mold, and grass ever. I guess that’s why I feel like crap ALL year round. Lol.

I Don’t Do Resolutions

Hi Lovelies!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe night and that you all have today off to relax! I have had a wonderful week…..a half day on Monday, no work yesterday or today…I will have a rude awakening tomorrow when I have to work for 8 hours. Good thing I have a job I enjoy going to:)

It has been super fun to read everyone’s year in review posts, it’s been a great way to get to know some of my favorite bloggers. If you have one, put your link in my comments so that I can go check it out! Now it’s time for everyone’s resolution posts to start. Well, I’m just going to let the cat out of the bag and let you know that I don’t do resolutions. I used to make a big long list and then I’d just feel bad when I didn’t follow through will all these grand things I promised myself I would do. Instead I just always vow to live the year to the fullest and try to be as healthy and happy as I can be:)

This scarf is the best. I kept seeing them all over the internet, but they were always $50-$60 and I just knew I wouldn’t wear it enough to justify the price tag. I finally found this one on Nordstrom.com and it was only $24.95. Highly Recommend. This is the perfect first day of the year outfit:)

I Am A Bargain Hunter

I am a bargain hunter. It’s true. No, I’m not cheap and no, I’m not that annoying person who tries to get a deal on a loose thread in every store, but I am DEFINITELY a bargain hunter. In college some may have even called me the bargain queen. I would come home from the mall with shirts that cost me $4, panties that were $1 each, and a pair of $3 sandals. My friends would be in awe. “How do you find such cute things on sale? I never do.” Well, first of all my friends, let me say that it is pure luck. Luck that they have my size, luck that it isn’t torn, and luck that it is something I would actually wear. There is no real trick to it, except that you have to shop often:) Now, for me, this is not a problem…I LOVE to shop, but for some shopping is torture. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are most likely not going to find a whole outfit for $20 unless you shop often.

That being said, today I’m showing off my new bargain from Forever 21. Yes, I realize that most everything in Forever 21 is a bargain, but this is a REAL bargain! I had a Visa giftcard that I won at work and it has been burning a hole in my pocket since the beginning of June when I got it. Obviously, I wanted to get the most bang for my buck, so I headed on over to Forever 21 after work. After looking for about 10 minutes I found it, this skirt (see below). This skirt was only $9.99! I was able to get 2 skirts and a dress with my $50 giftcard and I left feeling happy as can be:) So, without further ado, today’s outfit:

Oh, and by the way those sandals…$4 at Target! But moving on…for all of you saying that’s great Megan, but I can’t wear a tank top to work, cardigans are your best friend. I have a cardigan in about 5 different colors and they are a super easy way to turn a look like this into something appropriate for work (depending on your dress code). My favorite places for cardigans are definitely Nordstrom (on sale for $19.90) and Target (on sale for $15).

Chelsea came over in the middle of our shoot, ready to bake some cupcakes! Woohoo! I had to get a picture with her as well, because her dress and braid were just TOO cute!
