New York City In Burgundy and Polka Dots: Day 1

Hi Lovelies!

It’s time to tell you all about the trip to NYC! First, let me just say that if you have never been to New York City, you need to go. I have been 3 times and lived there for 4 months…and I would go back again in a heart beat. So here it goes, day 1 of my trip to NYC…

On Wednesday I took a half day from work and Wes drove me to the airport. The trip from Austin to Dallas was great, it was the trip from Dallas to New York that was an absolute nightmare. I met my mom and dad on the plane since my connection was so short, and we were just about to take off……..and then we stopped moving. 3.5 hours, 2 free granola bars, 6 glasses of water, and a trip to the cockpit later, and we were finally on our way. We arrived at our hotel on Manhattan at 3am and passed out immediately.

The next morning we woke up and made a quick trip to visit the house I used to live in. It was such a great experience and going to see it really brought back all of the great memories. I’m so glad we stopped by:) After we left “305”, we walked down to Canal Street/Chinatown and did a little bit of shopping/wandering around. Little Italy was right next to Chinatown, so we had lunch at this cute little place called Caffe Napoli.

After lunch, we decided to go see that 9/11 memorial. On the way we stopped by this really pretty church that had a graveyard with tombstones dating back to the 1700’s. It was right next to ground zero and during the attacks many people took refuge in the church. It may seem really weird, but I was fascinated by all of the old tombstones, they almost didn’t look real. The 9/11 memorial was absolutely beautiful, there are two giant fountains in the spots where the two towers stood surrounded by hundreds of trees and a beautiful park.

We ended the day seeing Motown on Broadway. It was SO good! I especially enjoyed the Jackson 5 parts, Michael Jackson is one of my all time favorites. Now, as I told you a couple of weeks ago in my New York Wish List post, I wanted to take some awesome pictures while I was in New York. I don’t know how fabulous they are, but I think I got some good shots. Here are some of my photos from the day, no captions necessary:)

Floral Pants…so fun!

Hello There!

I don’t know about you, but I am SO glad it is the weekend. I have been beyond exhausted lately (mostly due to staying up late every night catching up on Game Of Thrones, but that is BESIDES the point!). Anyways, I didn’t have time to upload my pictures from yesterday’s outfit due to the fact that Wes and I went to dinner and Main Event with some friends to bowl and play laser tag. Yes, we are 26 years old and we still play laser tag. I am also extremely competitive when it comes to my laser tag…but that is a story for another day.

Here is my fabulous outfit from yesterday, which I received quite a few compliments about. Doesn’t that always make you smile??? Me too:)

That last one was purely because I love the flowers on that tree and wanted a picture before they all fall off:)

Fly Blue Birds, Fly…

Hello There!

First of all, can I say how dangerous it is for me to work so close to such GOOD shopping? I have this horrible tendency to “stop by just to look” during my lunch break and it is really not good on my paycheck. Well, at least I can admit I have a problem, right? That is probably not even close to something my dear husband would accept as an answer, haha!

Anyways,  I was browsing blogs last night and I came across a few cute items from Francesca’s Collections. I haven’t been to Francesca’s in such a long time, so I HAD to go “just look” and see what they had. An hour and more money than I would like to admit later, I had some brand new outfits. As they lie on the seat next to me in the car I could feel myself smile (this is how you know you have a problem). I was scheming…scheming what my next great outfit would be and this is what I came up with:

Hot Pink and Teal

Happy Monday, everyone!

I, however, am not having such a happy Monday. Hubby and I watched the final episode of Downton Abbey last night (I know, I know, we are about six months behind), and for all of you who have seen it, I am in shock and mourning. :( Well, obviously, to go along with my foul mood it is a not so beautiful day here in Austin. To make myself feel a little better and make it seem like summer, I decided to go with a hot pink and teal outfit today! I love, LOVE to mix and match colors and when I saw this skirt and belt set at Target I knew I had to have it! The fact that it came with a teal belt was awesome, because not only did I NEED a teal belt, it also gave me a great idea on how to accessorize the skirt:)

Of course, I had to add a little pop of yellow in there as well…it is my favorite color after all!

Well, on with my Monday. I will try not to let a fictional character run my life….but then again maybe not. I hope you all enjoyed today’s outfit!

Sunday Funday!

Happy Sunday Lovelies!

Today is Sunday Funday, the perfect day for a comfy, casual, yet still cute outfit! The hubby and I celebrated Sunday Funday by having brunch at one of our FAVORITE restaurants, Austin Java. If you live in the Austin area and haven’t been there, you NEED to go. They have the best Green Chile Tomatillo Eggs Benedict….may sound different, but it is sooo delicious! Well, here is the brunch outfit for today:

All That Glitters: Yellow Sandals with Printed Skirt

All That Glitters: Yellow Handbag

All That Glitters: Yellow Wedges and printed skirt

Skirt: Delia’s
Top: Wet Seal
Sandals: I don’t remember, they are older, but the bottom says “Jaclyn Smith”
Earrings: Forever 21
Wedges: Charlotte Russe
Handbag: Charming Charlie
Camera Ring: Kohls
Bracelets: Pandora and Charming Charlie

Of course, you have to have an option to dress it all up a little bit and I love wedges. Wedges are WAY more comfortable than heels, but I won’t lie I definitely took these off after pictures and went with the sandals today:)

Hope you all enjoyed Sunday Sunday! Oh, and Happy Father’s Day!
