Things I Love: Part 4

Things I Love

Things I Love:

  1. This is perfect. I need to remind myself of this every time I cringe thinking about how people I know are reading this and just go for it anyways.
  2. Oh, how I miss the 90s sometimes.
  3. Whoever owns this. I have a new obsession with workout things now that I joined a gym. I want this. All of it. Found it on Pinterest and am now jealous.
  4. Smartest idea ever. I know I already made myself a jewlery holder, but I want this one!
  5. Kind of eerie and sad, yet beautiful all at the same time.
  6. If you want to change it, go out and do it. No excuses.
  7. Ummm I have a bow obsession. I need one of these:)
  8. First, I LOVE chevron. Second, I love yellow and gray. Third, I neeeeed one!
  9. Once again the Harry Potter nerd in me comes out.
  10. Such a cute bracelet for couples, moms, sisters, bffs, anything really…

Hope you all enjoyed! If you aren’t doing it already, how about you go ahead and follow me on Bloglovin’…I promise you won’t be disappointed:)

Hi Lovelies!

I love the rain. I love it even more when there is thunder and lightening involved. I could sit and watch a thunderstorm for hours. In fact, my friend Scott and I used to sit in an abandoned parking lot and watch the lightning all the time when we were in high school. It’s one of my favorite pastimes. As much as I love a good thunderstorm, I have to say rain is NOT good for your hair. So, I will say this once and you will not judge: It was raining…my hair is a frizzy mess, the photos are all inside, and they are just generally bad….I apologize.

Anyway, on to the outfit. Coral and mint together is one of my favorite combinations. I don’t know who figured this combo out, but they need a medal because it really is just amazing. I got this peplum top at Charming Charlie (surprise surprise) and besides the fact that it flares out just a tad bit by my arms, I absolutely love it! I really like the tie, even though I am apparently unable to tie a good bow…

Sophie always tries SO hard to get into the pictures with me. Basically, I always put lip gloss on to take my pictures and Sophie LOVES lip gloss. She was trying to climb up my leg to get to it the entire time we were taking pictures. So, here is one of Little Miss Sophernuggets after she realized she wasn’t going to be licking my lip gloss so that she doesn’t feel left out:)

Weekend Update: Carter Michael

Hi Lovelies!

If you don’t like babies, turn back now! There are going to be a lot of baby picturea on today’s post, because I met my nephew Carter Michael this weekend! He is such an adorable baby and I’m not just saying that because he is my nephew! Most babies have this alien-like look to them for the first few weeks, but here is Mr. Carter looking cute as ever just 5 days after birth…yes, he is in a dump truck!

After meeting my new nephew and staring at him/touching his chubby baby cheeks for a good hour or so, the weekend continued with some swimming and hanging out. My other niece and nephew Alexander and Anniston love their Auntie Megan<3

And then there was a little more loving on Carter. OK, a lot…

Don’t mind the hair. My arms hurt so bad from doing push ups with my personal trainer that I couldn’t lift them high enough to actually do something to my hair. Therefore, we get Megan with a wet mop on her head:)

And of course Little Miss Sophernugget had to meet her baby cousin. I’m not sure how they felt about each other…

Look at that! The two cutest babies ever:)

Well, now the weekend is over, and really don’t think I got enough baby-time in. All I want to do is touch those sweet, pudgy, little baby cheeks!

Well, that’s it for the weekend recap! Thanks for stopping by!

Options…We All Need Options…

Options…We all need options. How many times do you walk into your closet FILLED with pretty clothes and think, ‘I have nothing to wear!’? For me, it’s pretty much every single day.

I have been trying really hard lately to think when I buy things. Think about how I can dress it up and dress it down, about different ways that I can wear the item. If I can’t wear it in at least 3 or 4 different ways I try not to buy it. Yeah….try. Try is the key word. It’s so hard!

Basic solid colored items are really easy to match with everything, the hard part comes when that item has a pattern or is just generally not so basic. So, I thought that I would show you all some easy ways to change up that not so basic item your closet.

I love this skirt. LOVE. This is one of those things I would sit and look at, then think, ‘There’s no way you can get more than one outfit out of this skirt.’ But, I would be wrong. There are SO many things you can do to this skirt, and I only showed you two of those! Get some cute sandals and a crochet top to make it casual for lunch, but add some heels and some nice fashion jewelery and you’re all set to go for date night. I would say it’s a buy:) Not to mention it’s only $35!

Stay tuned for more options to come!

Workin’ On My Fitness

Hi Lovelies!

Lately, I have been trying to be a little better at life and make an attempt to work out. Unfortunately, living in Texas where it is over 100 degrees every day makes it extremely difficult to work out without going to a gym or a class. So…. I joined a gym yesterday and I’m pretty excited about it!

I have been driving by that gym every day for the past three months thinking, “Megan, you should stop by today and see how much a membership is.” Well, three months later….you get the picture.

You know, two years ago I was at the gym every day. Yes, every single day. I’m not really sure what happened, but that just kind of…stopped. So, I figured it was about time I jumped back on this ‘let’s start working out and training for marathons’ bandwagon that everyone else seems to be on. Ok, so maybe not the marathon training thing…baby steps, Megan! Baby steps!

From what I can see via social media I am WAY behind. You know, it’s funny, in college everyone is all about drinking. Drinking and partying, that’s the life. I have noticed though, in the 4 years that I have been out of college (OMG I feel old….) that the let’s drink and party trend has pretty much ended. Well, not entirely…but 99.9% of the posts I see on Facebook are now about Crossfit, marathon training, or cooking something healthy (or babies, but that is a whole other story…). So, I guess that means that I just joined the old folk…

Now that I am a member of a gym…the fun part comes in. I need some new work out clothes! I thought that maybe this is something y’all could help me with? :) As I mentioned before, I haven’t worked out on the regular for about two years now, so those clothes are SO out of date. AKA, I needed an excuse to buy something. Shopoholic problems much? Anyway, here are a few options that I put together on Polyvore. Which one do you like?

Work out 2

I think they are both super cute…and um…they look like they would be great for working out too?

I am also SUPER psyched to get my glitter tank that I am going to order off of Etsy next week. I featured it in my Things I Love post a while back and it is a must have for my new gym going activities. Pictures to come asap once it is ordered and arrives!

Well, I guess I will keep y’all updated about how things on the workout front are going….wish me luck!
