Hi Lovelies!
It’s time to tell you all about the trip to NYC! First, let me just say that if you have never been to New York City, you need to go. I have been 3 times and lived there for 4 months…and I would go back again in a heart beat. So here it goes, day 1 of my trip to NYC…
On Wednesday I took a half day from work and Wes drove me to the airport. The trip from Austin to Dallas was great, it was the trip from Dallas to New York that was an absolute nightmare. I met my mom and dad on the plane since my connection was so short, and we were just about to take off……..and then we stopped moving. 3.5 hours, 2 free granola bars, 6 glasses of water, and a trip to the cockpit later, and we were finally on our way. We arrived at our hotel on Manhattan at 3am and passed out immediately.
The next morning we woke up and made a quick trip to visit the house I used to live in. It was such a great experience and going to see it really brought back all of the great memories. I’m so glad we stopped by:) After we left “305”, we walked down to Canal Street/Chinatown and did a little bit of shopping/wandering around. Little Italy was right next to Chinatown, so we had lunch at this cute little place called Caffe Napoli.
After lunch, we decided to go see that 9/11 memorial. On the way we stopped by this really pretty church that had a graveyard with tombstones dating back to the 1700’s. It was right next to ground zero and during the attacks many people took refuge in the church. It may seem really weird, but I was fascinated by all of the old tombstones, they almost didn’t look real. The 9/11 memorial was absolutely beautiful, there are two giant fountains in the spots where the two towers stood surrounded by hundreds of trees and a beautiful park.
We ended the day seeing Motown on Broadway. It was SO good! I especially enjoyed the Jackson 5 parts, Michael Jackson is one of my all time favorites. Now, as I told you a couple of weeks ago in my New York Wish List post, I wanted to take some awesome pictures while I was in New York. I don’t know how fabulous they are, but I think I got some good shots. Here are some of my photos from the day, no captions necessary:)

You’re right, those tombstones almost don’t look real, they’re nice though, I can’t believe they’ve lasted so long! I like the memorial photos, seems a little creepy to be in a place where such drastic changes took place but I want to see it for myself! Cute outfit! Looks like you had a great trip
It was a great trip! We saw so much in just a few shorts days! Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see the rest!
Pretty photos! I love NY It’s been awhile I need to go back.
Thank you, Jenne! You can never go to NYC enough…there will always be something new to do:)
