My New Favorite Fall Dress

All That Glitters- Fall Fashion

Ok, I realize that I come to you guys like once per week saying that I have found my new favorite outfit, but this time….I mean it! I have finally found it: my favorite fall outfit for this year! This dress from Target had me from the first glance. I saw it, I tried it on, I loved it. And weirdly enough, I didn’t buy it the first time I saw it, but you can bet your ass I thought about that dress for days. So, obviously I went back in when I was supposed to be getting food for dinner and bought her:) Do you ever see an item, fall in love and then think about it for days after? No? I’m the only one? Haha! You can do SO much with this dress and you can guarantee that I will be styling it more than a few more times this winter. With a fur vest, with colored tights, with tall boots, with pants as a tunic….don’t even get me started on the endless possibilities. I think this might call for a “One dress: 6,000,000 Ways” post….<evil laugh>All That Glitters Blog-Navy and Purple Outfit for Fall All That Glitters Blog- Navy Dress with Purple Handbag All That Glitters Blog- Navy and Pink All That Glitters Blog- Burgundy Handbag and Cognac Bow Boots- Perfect for fall All That Glitters Blog- Fall Fashion in Navy and Purple All That Glitters Blog- Navy and Purple Color Crush All That Glitters Blog- Navy and Purple Fall Outfit Inspirations All That Glitters Blog- Navy and Burgundy Dress All That Glitters Blog- Navy dress with purple and pink flowers All That Glitters Blog- Purple Handbag for fall fashion

Don’t think I’m going to forget to talk to you about those booties! I bought them back when I worked for Delia’s from the Alloy magazine and only wear them on occasion, but after seeing them with this dress I feel like I need to bring them into my outfits more often. They really aren’t very high heels, which is great for me since I am the biggest klutz ever, and who can resist those big brown bows? Oh, and did I forget to mention my hair? I’m pretty sure this is the first time my hair has been down in a post since I got it cut! For those of you thinking, “her hair is so long!”, you must be new here! Haha! I am going to send you on over to this post, this post,  and this post, so you can check out what real long hair actually is:) She chopped off at least 6 inches and I really like the length. I think it looks MUCH healthier, butI know it will be back to it’s ultra long state in like a month anyways because my hair grows like a weed. It’s nice to have a little something different even if it is just the length:)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday and get excited because tomorrow I have a little announcement for you! Eek!

Homemade Apple Sauce & 12 Other Apple Recipes

Homemade Cinnamon Apple Sauce

I won’t lie, the cool weather this weekend really got me in the mood for fall. This is Texas though, that weather was only temporary and it will be back up to 90 degrees today and for the rest of this week. I just have to keep reminding myself that when it’s 20 degrees everywhere else, it will feel like fall in Texas. The mild “winter” weather is one of the things I love most about Texas. But, back to this weekend and the fallness:)

Saturday morning I woke up and let Sophie out in the backyard, I couldn’t believe how cold it was for the middle of September. I was in the fall mood, so I threw on a cute fall outfit, grabbed my grocery list, and headed off to Starbucks. I’m not a hot coffee person (Iced coffee all the way), so I ordered my usual Hot Chocolate (non-fat, no whip, extra hot) and wandered next door to HEB. You could feel it in the air, despite the rain, everyone was excited for this weather. My first fall meal of the year is almost always the same, beef stew and apple sauce. Delicious comfort food that makes your entire house smell like a fall heaven.

Homemade Apple Sauce

Ingredients:

  • Apples
  • Cinnamon
  • Brown Sugar
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Lemon juice

Cinnamon Apple Sauce

Apple Sauce From Scratch

Directions:

  1. Core the apples and then slice them into 8 equal pieces. Cut those pieces in half.
  2. Put the apples into a saucepan with 1/2 a cup of water and half of a lemon’s worth of juice. Stir the apples to coat them all with the lemon and water.
  3. Let the apples simmer, covered for about 8 minutes.
  4. Add 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of sugar. Stir.
  5. Add cinnamon to your liking. I don’t use measurements for this one, so you’ll have to bear with me:) I just shake that shaker a few times until my kitchen smells of cinnamon and apples! Haha!
  6. Let the apples cook, uncovered for another 10-15 minutes, or until all of the water is gone. I like to smash the apples with my stirring spoon as I go to give it a little bit more of an apple sauce consistency.

Notes:

  • If you prefer not to have skins in your apple sauce, just peel them at the beginning before cooking. You will need to cook the apples for less time without the skins in order to get a chunkier apple sauce.
  • If you prefer a less chunky apple sauce, just cook it longer and they will mush us more. It is easier to acquire a less chunky consistency with no skins.

13 Apple Recipes

Since apple recipes make me crave fall, and I want to torture as many people as I can in to craving fall as well, I’m going to share a few really good ones from across the internet that I found! Hehe, I’m not evil I swear! I have to say, I may need to make some apple waffles for breakfast next weekend and that apple dip would be awesome with some cinnamon chips for a fall get together with friends:)

A Work Out Update & Marika Capris

Marika Work Out LeggingsI have been going to bootcamp for a little over 3 months now, and I absolutely love it. My trainer pushes me to work hard, my classmates give me the motivation to show up, and I love that my work out is done by 6:30AM and I don’t have to think about it again after. Well, except for the next day when I’m sore in muscles I didn’t even know existed…lol! Yes, there are mornings that I have to literally drag myself out of bed at 5AM, and there are even mornings where I don’t make it (I blame Netflix), but overall morning exercise is what works for me. I would highly recommend signing up for a morning bootcamp if you are one of those people who doesn’t have that natural motivation to get up and go to the gym after work.

It’s hot here in Texas, even at 5:30 in the morning, so I normally wear shorts and a baggy tank top at bootcamp, but it’s September already so I know it’s going to start getting chillier soon. Once that chilly weather sets in, I like to wear capris or work out leggings when I run or work out outside. That’s why when Marika asked me to review a pair of their slimming capri’s, I got so excited. I have actually purchased Marika work out capris in the past at TJ Maxx and I love them. They are comfortable and last for a long time. There are a bunch of different varieties, but these specific capris have a higher waist, which I like because they don’t slip down when I run. Marika is offering 30% off to all of you readers from now until September 30 using code MM30, so hurry up and get shopping!
